It is actually the jade that Chu Bai's dads gave him, which underwent a tribulation by turning into a remnant book to guide Chu Bai through the plot. After completing its mission, it gained the ability to take human form. It explained that it swapped Chu Bai from a different timeline when he was a child to save his life, and recently swapped him back. It then disappeared to return to a higher dimension.
