He developed an insane possessive obsession with Song Jingmian after marriage, never allowing her to go out alone. He rescued the Bai family from bankruptcy when White Group was on the verge of collapse. After Song Jingmian's death, he dug for three days and nights in the wilderness, found her jade pendant, collapsed from exhaustion, was injured, and later tortured Bai Sisi in a basement. At the end of chapter 3, he drank poison from a small medicine bottle while holding her photo.
