Also called Xiaoju and Juju, she is Baolan's friend from Hongsha Village. Her father is lazy and dislikes working, so only her brother and mother labor in the fields. She benefits from the mutual-aid teams since her family has fewer workers. She is young and somewhat naive, worried about Baolan being forced into an exchange marriage. She walks home with Baolan and is not particularly curious about Baolan's secret plans.
