Female supporting character, also referred to as Matron Zhai, the Princess's longtime attendant. She blocked Lin Qingyuan from entering the Princess's quarters by claiming the lamps were unlit, following advice from the Heir Apparent's wife. She was contemptuous of Lin Qingyuan's low birth. The Princess later gave Lin Qingyuan her deed of sale.
