The daughter of an old worker at the herb shop who grew up in the county town. She has a high opinion of herself and looks down on her mother-in-law Aunt Chen for being from a poor remote village. She harshly scolded Aunt Chen when she came to bring soup, calling it something even dogs wouldn't eat, and told her to leave.
