Attendant Miao is a consort in the harem who, along with Concubine Yin, tries to ingratiate herself with Yu Ying after her promotion. She brings a fancy inkstone as a gift and participates in the scheme to have Yu Ying recommend them to Kangxi. Her behavior reflects the competitive and opportunistic nature of harem politics.
