The head of the Anyuan Marquis house, father of Wen Wanru and husband of the imprisoned Lady Liu. He hosts a small banquet to project normalcy after Lady Liu’s imprisonment and to ease the gloom. His medicinal trade has collapsed, causing him anxiety. He warns Wen Wanru that the Crown Prince only wants her grandfather’s military power, but she refuses to listen. He suspects Wen Yinyue may be needed as a safeguard if the Crown Prince and Chu Yuan clash.
