One of Tathagata's two disciples, described as a lively and spirited youth, exceptionally handsome across heaven and earth. He is foremost in learning among Tathagata's disciples and possesses profound wisdom, yet has not attained enlightenment and remains merely a servant by Tathagata's side. He is quite favored by Tathagata. Ananda shows warmth toward Yun Heng, finding him adorable and reminding him of someone he was once husband and wife with for five hundred lifetimes. He gently strokes Yun Heng's head and suggests he visit Zizhulin on the back mountain.
