An Haotian is the older brother of An Xingyuan and a member of the An Family. He is responsible for hosting the wedding banquet and is concerned with maintaining the family's dignity. At the banquet, he politely greets the Lin family members and apologizes for his brother's neglect. He is deeply distressed when the wedding drama unfolds on stage. An Haotian tries to control the situation, holding back An Junmai and ordering security guards to block the couple. He is revealed to be the object of Ma Kaiji's affection—Ma Kaiji initially pursued An Junmai as a substitute for An Haotian. When Ma Kaiji appears and kneels before An Haotian, begging forgiveness, it is clear that An Haotian's world is being turned upside down. The narrator sympathizes with how shattered An Haotian will be.
