An orphan girl of about sixteen who worked at Qingfeng Temple in exchange for meals. She named herself Ah Shan meaning she wished to be kind and help others. She was discovered by Lady Li and adopted into the Liang family, becoming Liang Shanyuan, the fifth young miss.
