I've been thinking about masks in this book and I don't think I've ever seen the symbol used this layered. Yu Sibai wears a physical mask to hide his identity as Respit2. But he also wears emotional masks — the cheerful streamer, the competent analyst, the guy who can drink three beers and still shuffle cards. The mask comes off (literally, when he pulls it down to his chin) at the exact moment he says "I'm quitting," which feels like the most honest thing he's said in years. Ji Wenze also wears masks. "Boss 404" watching streams. The calm, collected executive who shredders his own documents instead of signing them. The man who can't stop himself from watching the person he's been avoiding for years. His mask isn't physical — it's the persona of the untouchable president who has everything under control. But we see him alone in his office, opening a livestream, and the whole facade cracks. The design drafts are another symbol that keeps appearing. Yu Sibai revised them, left them behind, and Ji Wenze studies them in silence. These drafts represent everything Yu Sibai creates but never claims ownership of. His talent, his vision, his identity as a designer — all of it exists in documents that belong to someone else's company. And the parallel lines metaphor from Duan Chengxue — that's the thesis of the entire novel. Two people who keep crossing paths but never intersect. Until they do. Because that's what parallel lines do in fiction. They're destined to meet, even if the geometry of the real world says they never will.
Ok so at no point, no one is going to tell him it was all Jake. Thats wack
It's a good book to read.. I enjoyed it.
I was hooked from start to finish
it is one of the most disgusting books ever
This book is amazing and written so well. Some books can be interesting but they can fall short when the writing is not done well or edited properly. This one reads like a charm! Love it so much ...️
