I've been catching up on this MTL novel, and I really enjoy the protagonist, Jiang Chen. Despite being lazier with his cultivation, he possesses incredible abilities like teleportation and time travel through his System, although those come with limitations. The System even includes features like boasting for points, enhancing others' talents, and more, making it quite versatile. As the story progresses, Jiang's wish to die becomes increasingly difficult due to his formidable foundation – he can now challenge Immortal Emperors despite being an Immortal King, two realms below. The world-building is impressive, with significant time skips during key moments like ascending to the upper realm and reaching the Heavenly Dao.
His sect and disciples stand out with distinct personalities, not serving as mere background characters in the typical xianxia cliché. One amusing plot point involves Jiang discovering a glitch in the System and exploiting it for experience points, leading to hilarious farming sessions. Even the System begrudgingly accepts this, necessitating maintenance periods. There's much more to the story, but I don't want to spoil it by revealing too much.
This was an incredible read! What I particularly enjoyed was the lack of any unnecessary misunderstandings between the characters, which kept things clear and engaging (no need for excessive explanation of their IQ dynamics, hehe). The supporting characters added a delightful touch with their humor and intriguing personalities. It's refreshing to see how their entire class remained close friends, something that doesn't often happen in real life, but it certainly made for entertaining storytelling. Overall, I highly recommend this book as a must-read!
He made for a writing contest a while go, after that he dropped it. F*ck man, this guy has real talent
Probably my favourite light novel, people hate on the second arc but I think it's really organic and I enjoyed the tone shift. Ending and Ludwig's progression was extremely satisfying too. I love novels where the power scaling is simple and most development is mental.
Probably cus they don't treat each other awkwardly and doesn't overblish
