honestly when I started reading it was good it has a decent background for characters, it also had a really good story, I can not wait to see how the story progresses.

Small review right here, I think this book is amazing, yeah first 40 chaps shows Author's inexperience, but it obviously becomes better, and after 50 chaps it is amazing to read. Good job Author!

Let me just say this: the author knows how to pace a chapter. Three separate threads running through these chapters and none of them feel rushed or neglected. Thread one: Su He preparing for the wedding banquet, sending her brothers to town, sneaking into the mountains. Thread two: Su Lan performing for the village women, building her reputation. Thread three: the village gossip machine grinding away, comparing the two brides. These could easily have become three separate chapters, but instead they're woven together so tightly that by the time Wang Guixiang delivers her line about the second half of a woman's life, you've already absorbed all the context you need. The transition from Su He in the mountains to the village scene is seamless—she's walking back, sun dipping west, thinking about the herbs, and then suddenly we're under the scholar tree with Liu Cuihua on cloud nine. No jarring cut. And the rabbit scene? Perfect timing. Su He is already feeling relieved about the herbs, thinking 'the wedding banquet spread wouldn't have to be too shabby,' and then—rustling. Heart in throat. Hoe in hand. And it's a rabbit. The tension breaks and immediately rebuilds in a completely different direction. That's skilled pacing. The author doesn't let you settle. Just when you think you know where the chapter is going, it pivots. The only thing I'd critique is that the village scene runs a little long compared to the mountain sequence, but honestly, the Su Lan vs. Wang Guixiang dynamic is so good I didn't mind.
