Okay so I need to just talk about this family because honestly it made me so mad I had to put the book down for a second. Yun Mu Jing is the TRUE daughter and yet everyone treats her like she's the intruder. General Yun literally says SHE took Yun Si Yu's place. SHE. The one they abandoned as a child, the one who wandered outside for years, comes back and her own father blames her for existing wrong. But the real plot twist here isn't the misunderstanding — it's how Yun Si Yu weaponizes everything. She plays the sweet sister one second, pleading for Yun Mu Jing, and the NEXT second she's feeding her parents' fears about the Crown Prince engagement and suggesting Yun Mu Jing marry Prince Yu. That switch was so fast and so calculated. And the worst part? Mo Han Zhao actually believes Si Yu is kind-hearted. He thinks she sacrificed Yun Mu Jing out of love for HIM. The man has zero detection when it comes to this family. The plot is building this incredible pressure cooker though. Yun Mu Jing is trapped — beaten, locked in the Ancestral Hall, forced to copy the Female Virtues fifty times, and now being married off to the one man she's most afraid of. The author is stacking stakes on top of stakes and I am HERE for it. Every chapter feels like the walls are closing in, and I can't stop reading to see how she gets out.
