This is an enjoyable read. Not the best out there, but certainly entertaining enough for me to write this review, despite my poor English (I hope you can forgive me for that).
The setting of this novel stands out quite a bit compared to other reincarnation/isekai stories I've read:
Firstly, the protagonist chooses to remain as a weapon rather than striving hard to obtain a humanoid form. While he does have a way to transform into a human, the author imposes significant drawbacks on this method, so the main character rarely uses it. As a result, he doesn't mindlessly build a harem.
The sub-genres are quite diverse; so far, we've had a power-leveling arc, a dungeon-crawling arc, a detective arc, and even a cooking competition arc. It's hardly ever boring with all these elements. However, sometimes the author jumps between sub-genres too abruptly, making some chapters feel disconnected from the main story.
The supporting characters are also well-defined. They don't just exist to make the main character look strong. I particularly enjoy the chapters from their points of view, though they are few and far between.
I especially liked the chapter from the chamberlain’s perspective.
While some minor characters feel overly forced into being evil, their foolish actions do add a bit of amusement as the main character deals with them.
Lastly, even if you think the main character and the heroine are overpowered, the author always manages to introduce even stronger adversaries that challenge them. These battles often require them to use clever tricks, and even then, they win by a narrow margin, in true shounen manga style. Personally, I prefer this to the main character effortlessly overpowering everything. It makes the power-leveling chapters feel more rewarding.
This novel stands out significantly from the author's other works in terms of setting, background, world-building, and even genre.
To me, this is a straightforward, enjoyable action-adventure story where the main character (MC) and her team embark on various quests together, unravel the world's mysteries, battle villains, and uncover hidden truths. The tone is light-hearted, but it also includes its share of both joyful and sorrowful moments (some of which might bring you to tears). It feels very much like a classic shonen story, but with a female MC. Unlike the author's other notable novels (with the exception of "Star General"), this one lacks the typical face-slapping scenes. It’s not a story of revenge; rather, it’s about a girl destined to be cannon fodder who strives to defy her fate.
The MC, Zanxing, embodies the traits of a typical shonen protagonist—optimistic, kind, hardworking, and, let’s not forget, lucky (haha). The male lead (ML), unlike the usually ‘cold’ MLs in the author's other works, is more on the arrogant, tsundere side. By chapter 165, he has just realized his feelings, and I'm eagerly anticipating how the romance will develop.
One aspect I particularly appreciate about this novel is the importance and depth of the side characters. They each have their own roles, personalities, and motivations, and the story involves teamwork, giving everyone a chance to stand out. It’s not just a story of two people against the world.
The narrative starts a bit slowly as the author takes time to establish Zanxing's position within her sect before the adventures truly begin. However, it remains engaging throughout, and I never found it dull. I will update my review once I finish the novel.

I have now completed the novel. I was very satisfied with the ending, especially the unexpected twist at the very end—it took me by surprise.
Unlike most cultivation novels that often sideline romance, this one has a clear beginning and end, indicating that the author meticulously planned every detail from the start. It doesn’t follow the typical pattern of targeting smaller enemies before confronting the final boss, thus subverting many common action-story tropes while still staying true to its genre.
If you enjoy action-adventure stories with a female MC, a light-hearted tone, and a touch of romance, this novel is definitely worth checking out. Even if you’re new to the xianxia genre, this book serves as an excellent starting point.
I absolutely adore this novel! It's a simple tale that resonates deeply, particularly for someone like me who tends to procrastinate. The characters inspire me to strive for a better balance between study and enjoyment, even though I can't help but admire their exceptional intellect. There's a touch of envy here (feeling envious) when it comes to the main characters' genius.
The characters are my favorites, especially the tsundere protagonist. Despite his gruff exterior, he has a tender heart for his loved ones, including our charming ML. His subtle acts of kindness fill me with warmth. The ML is hilarious and incredibly endearing; his love for the MC is both adorable and enviable, and he's quite the smooth talker (oh so suave).
Even the supporting characters deserve praise. The folks in Black Water Street, though not related by blood, show genuine affection and humor. Characters like Madam Gu and Old He come to mind, though they didn't leave as strong impressions.
Class 2.3 is a tight-knit group that stands by each other through thick and thin, and Old Tang is a lovable teacher who genuinely cares about his students, alongside Dean Jiang and Wu Zheng.
As for a spoiler, I'm unsure whether to curse or commend Class 2.4, but let's leave that for discussion.
Each chapter is delightful, but Extra 4 holds a special place in my heart (✯ᴗ✯). If you haven't read it yet, it's easily accessible online and it's free!
This novel earns a perfect 5 out of 5 for me. It offers a perfect blend of everyday life, humor, romance, drama, and motivational elements, making it a perfect read for someone like me (and probably many others).
There are only a select few high-quality Yuri novels, and this particular one stands out. I thoroughly enjoyed it; it combined lightheartedness with deep emotions. Although I felt the pacing could have been slightly slower, overall, I believe it was an excellent read.
