Other reviews dont bring justice to this novel. Even if the novel is a bit cliche, it is fast paced compared to others and mc is BRUTAL. The brutality gets me hooked.

I think the girl in this novel is the daughter of Ji Mo from Transcending the Nine Heavens. I believe it was mentioned (in Realms in the Firmament) that Ji Mo lost a bet with Chu Yang, so Ji Mo had to send his daughter down to the mortal realms to look for a husband and to get stronger as an individual. Ji Mo also asked his brothers (Chu Yang and the other seven) to bestow some treasures on her so she would be safe in the mortal world. His masculine wife beat the **** outta Ji Mo because she didnt know about the bet lol. They dote on her a lot so they thought no one was good enough to be her husband.

It's sad seeing such great story end up being left in the dust. This story already has great translator and good release rate but was put on hiatus because of some nonsense reason. Fuck Qidian and their ****ty event. They only care about how to sell more spirit stone. Bring back the translator so we can regular update again.
I started reading this at 10pm and I'm still not done. The way this author structures each chapter is masterful. You open with an emotionally devastating confrontation between Chen Xi and her mother, then immediately pivot to Chen Xi's internal resolution—"Why bother clinging to things in this life that you already knew in your previous life?" That's a perfect tonal shift. It goes from heavy to hopeful in one paragraph. Then you get the hospital discharge scene where the mother is still obsessing over five dollars, which is both funny and heartbreaking, and then the RV discovery which is this quiet moment of wonder. By the time you reach the Youth League office, you're already invested in Chen Xi's scheme and you NEED to see if it works. And the office lady scene? Perfectly paced. The candy, the watch, the gender change—all of it unfolds naturally without feeling rushed. The chapter ends on this cliffhanger about the black market and Chen Xi's new determination to reclaim her job. Each chapter has this rhythm of tension-release-tension that keeps you flipping pages. The author knows exactly when to slow down (the water discovery) and when to accelerate (the office manipulation). No filler, no dragging. Just pure forward momentum.
The story itself and the plot is interesting.There is a lack of character development and there’s no point in putting in highiq tag if he’s gonna rely on the system for solving all cases.I’m satisfied with the overall story but just the character himself I’m concern about.
I can’t believe I read this non-sense… seriously, this novel’s so random that it’s not even funny. Non-sense netizens are normal, but the counter attack (from mc’s elite and oh so smart disciples) are bullsxxt. Not to mention that they can’t find their master for so long when they are so powerful (I don’t believe he can hide from them in his dementia state).My advice, don’t waste your time.
