A solid read, but incredibly annoying. Word padding is just purposely insulting at this point.This novel did almost everything right when it comes to it's premise.An immortal doing cultivation just not to be killed or die due to stupid reasons. MC has a whole concept and philosophy of life based on that. Anyway, characters are done nicely, MC is beyond perfect for what the premise says (he's the definition of caution), the world building is a continuous process. The development and where the story is going is interesting.I can say almost everything is as it should be.HOWEVER, THE WORD PADDING!!! I don't know how this novel even was approved and published and translated to English. The word padding and repeating is so annoying. Pick any random chapter, and you'll see the same idea repeated a dozen times. Author says progress of the novel is slow and developments take their time, but it's actually just a lot of useless unnecessary expanding and repeating the same exact thing a million times. If you ignore all the word padding and repeats, then the development is actually decent and even fast. The word padding made it just awful. I haven't read something that does worse word padding than this in a long time.

Even the highest ratings can't justify how incredible this novel is. After a two-year search, I finally got my hands on it. The characters captivated me, and I fell deeply in love with them. The emotional rollercoaster was intensely relatable. I eagerly await completing the entire story. I'll patiently await the translation's completion with bated breath.
Great story, Great Characters, if you love a story with good writing quality, this is definitely it.

In the era of system and VR (In WN), It’s rare to stumble upon books that have something fresh to offer with a new plot. Secret Society is a novel that focuses on crime, thriller and mystery with comedy and romance as side dishes. *Cough* I have read it while it was still in beta form but reading it in WN gives a different emotion.So, here is a thorough review from what I have read and what you can expect. Writing Quality: It won't be a lie if I say, I am jelly jelly of the author for having a strong and mesmerizing writing style. In every chapter of Secret society (SecSy), you can see the dedication and effort put into them. A solid 5/5.Stability of updates: 1 chapter a day at the very least. I mean as long as the author doesn’t slack off, We can expect a nice update rate, muhahahaha.Story Development: Ayo, do you even need to ask? Up to where I have read, and of course from what I know, the story is going to get only better. Character Design: Both of the MCs, Xavier and Eulene(Yue Lin) are well-designed characters. For me, Yue Lin is relatable character at some point, *cough*, but of course, she is so much better. You will grow to love every character, even if they appear for a bit.World Background: This is a steampunk novel, aka, Victorian Setting. So, the dressing, food, lifestyle, education, rules and such shows resemblance to that period. For me, it was first time trying out a novel of this genre, and I must say, I am SUPER GLAD that I decided to read it.Cover: Welp, I have no qualms about it. I love it!
