Basically my main problem with her is that she was shoehorned in to the story and her character doesnt make any sense. Firstly she was introduced as someone who wanted to be a hero and said she would even risk her life to protect people and yet she just easily no questions asked decides to be friends with the genocidal maniac darkday. Secondly Riley always rejected physical contact with anyone even his parents and yet the author made him accept paige easily(literally like the 1st or 2nd day they met) just to force the nonsense "understanding" plot. And tying into my second point Riley himself isn't even someone that you can say you "understand" unless you're someone who has been with him for an extended period and seen all parts of his true self(Hannah or maybe even Katherine) yet the random character that was just introduced claims to understand him and that's all it takes for him to accept her? For me that's just garbage.
In a nutshell, yeah. The MC is no better than his father. In fact, he's worse. If you've read other progressive fantasies or xianxias, you know what's going to happen. These novels make you appreciate the process more than the end, because the end is usually (and in this case) unsatisfactory. It's really upto you. From how you reacted to the abuse of the father, it seems you're a sensitive person (nothing bad, in fact it's much needed) so I'd assume this isn't for you. This novel has an edgy MC. If that's your taste, read on. However, instead of taking my words for it, you should read a few more chapters to form an opinion. Happy reads!
That means from there it is machine translated. Thanks for sharing that info, im not interested in fake translated novels. Skip this
Ch 108. All this storyline just for the guy to die so bad? You really dragged it out this long just to kill him? This is so forced. Strike 1 author. Strike 1.
What a delightful story! The story is a perfect blend of romance and charm. The characters are lovable and the plot keeps you engaged till the end. It's a wonderful escape into a beautifully written love story.

This story is the greatest thing I've ever read. the only fault in the story Is some slight grammatical and proofreading errors. I've been bingeing this novel for 36hrs now with no regrets. Congratulations Pancakes Witch I am officially obsessed with your work.
I love this novel, but romance side is verryyyy low, like 210 chapters and they had only a kiss…but friendships and the plot twist is very interesting!
Just to fill 140 characters , keep it up
I also considered dropping this novel by 200+ chapter due to dull, repetitive dungeoning and MCs OPness, but I persisted, and it pays me off. Before, I can’t count how many times I spouted a chapter as unnecessary, but turns out to be necessary. This novel got me attached to the side characters, more so to our beloved Happy. What’s interesting to this novel too is that no one can be considered villains; everyone had their own reasons why they struggle and fight, which are relatable and sometimes pitiful. The world building is excellent, story narration is flawless, and translation quality is top notch. This is the best web novel I’ve ever read.
man this was a disappointment. I had high hopes this would be good, but man was a wrong. MC is fucking weird and not in a good way. the author forgets what he said 1 chapter before. One chapter he said The MC had good grades and the next, his grades sucked. Its so dam slow and boring, and every chapter feels like filler. Your just waiting around for something fun to happen, but it never does.
