This is likely one of the earliest and most clichéd Isekai stories out there. For fans who enjoy a formulaic experience, this might be their cup of tea. However, I'd argue that it doesn't stand out positively either.
The reasons why it falls short are numerous:
1. Lack of depth: The story lacks any substantial plot, which might be acceptable if the characters were engaging. Unfortunately, they're bland and uninteresting, resulting in a tedious read. There's no meaningful conflict or character development; it feels like watching a child's cartoon without a plot.
2. Bland characters: The main character is unoriginal, resembling the stereotypical fat otaku neet trope. While they may eventually become powerful and gain a harem, the lack of any redeeming qualities or growth makes them unlikable.
3. Generic world: The fantasy setting is unoriginal and unimpressive, having been seen countless times before in similar works.
4. Writing quality: The writing is mediocre at best, failing to impress with anything exceptional.
Overall, this series stands out for its sheer boredom. I thought I had seen it all in terms of dislike, but then came Arifureta, followed by even more平淡 offerings. It's disheartening to see how popular these subpar stories can be while well-written ones struggle to gain recognition. Japan, typically known for its literary quality, seems to fall victim to the same pitfalls as Chinese webnovels, where cookie-cutter content prevails.
It's disappointing to witness the imbalance between popular and deserving stories, but it's a reality we often encounter in the realm of fiction.
The main character is hilarious, and I adore his inner thoughts – he's innocent yet sassy, which creates a delightful balance. The male lead is completely devoted to him, making the story light and enjoyable so far. My one confusion is regarding his beta status and the presence of glands and pheromones; I'm hoping for clarification later in the book.
I couldn't resist reading more, and the writing is straightforward and easy to follow. It's more of a slice-of-life tale, perfect for a mental break from intense plots or emotional turmoil. As for the gland issue, I'm still unsure – perhaps because it relates to his zombie transformation, with glands being a vulnerability in the typical zombie lore. The concept of a beta having glands and sensitivity to pheromones isn't explained logically within the context of the book, so don't come in expecting stereotypical ABO dynamics.

The MC is not OP in the Game, He's skilled, but not OP. He died a lot, which makes me really frustated.
There are not many cliche in this novel, which is good, but i really want some unique advantage to dominate the enemy, it's a novel, a fiction, the Struggle of the MC in the game is too frustating.
Edit: Oh yeah, there are not many skills in the Game probably. i read a lot of this type of genre, but even among them, this one has less skills in the early game compared to others. It can make the battle simple, not confusing, but for some, they might find it boring.
