The story is incredibly unengaging. The characters feel flat and one-dimensional, lacking depth and excitement. The protagonist's "sensible" nature, while portrayed as a positive trait, comes across as a Mary Sue character who effortlessly sails through life without facing any substantial challenges. For instance, her overbearing matchmaking mother could have been a source of conflict and growth, but instead, it's brushed aside without proper resolution. A truly interesting character would confront such issues and evolve.
The commentary on clichés is neither fresh nor humorous; it often borders on condescending and hypocritical, given how the narrative frequently accepts and even perpetuates outdated stereotypes about women (like their vanity and obsession with fashion). This book doesn't offer any intelligent satire or profound insights. Unfortunately, I found the reading experience draining and unfulfilling. Save your time and look elsewhere for something more engaging.
"I absolutely adore this! It's incredibly endearing and somewhat clichéd, but in a charming way. It's a breath of fresh air to have a protagonist who is so innocent and guileless amidst a sea of cunning characters. The male lead's adoration and level-headedness are truly commendable (so far, he seems to have cleverly steered clear of unnecessary misunderstandings)."
In essence, the response is praising the story for its sweetness, despite its familiarity, and appreciating the contrast between the naive main character and the more manipulative ones. The author also highlights the positive qualities of the male lead and his ability to navigate relationships effectively.

I genuinely appreciate this RPG-style isekai novel for its well-developed protagonist and intriguing dynamic between him and Leficios. I prefer slice-of-life stories over the typical trope of overpowered Japanese characters going on adventures, especially when they remain virgins and focus on mundane tasks. Having the strongest being alive as a companion ensures safety but also limits the action aspect, which can be both a positive (more character development) and negative (no constant battles).
However, there are several drawbacks. The MC's decision-making, particularly in sparing and reforming the female hero solely because of her gender, comes across as illogical and sexist. The inclusion of a harem is another point of contention – it feels out of place given his marriage to the most powerful being, who should not suddenly迎合 his desires. The presence of lolis adds nothing substantial to the story and only serves as low-quality comic relief.
Additionally, I wish the MC spent more time learning from the dragon or exploring the world at large, rather than constantly solving other countries' problems like a do-gooder without true need. Real-world politics are nuanced, and it's important for the MC to understand that not all conflicts can be neatly categorized as good vs. evil.
In summary, while there are redeeming qualities, the novel's shortcomings, such as the problematic character traits and forced plot elements, cannot be overlooked.
Having immersed myself in "The Reversal of a Son-in-law," I must say it's a compelling read that captivates with its intricate plot. The author masterfully weaves a tale of family dynamics, love, and redemption, leaving me on the edge of my seat. The protagonist's transformation is both heart-wrenching and inspiring, as he learns valuable lessons about sacrifice and forgiveness. This thought-provoking novel kept me engrossed from beginning to end, making it a standout addition to my literary collection.
