While the story is fantastic, the romantic aspect lacks depth, as there's minimal progression throughout. We observe multiple female characters expressing their love for the main character, supporting each other's feelings without him realizing, and their efforts often involve simple gestures like sitting close to him or inquiring about his preferences. A single instance of a girl kissing his finger stands out as the peak of affection from the numerous characters. Given the extensive focus on their emotions, there should have been at least a kiss between them.
The main character (MC) is portrayed as overpowered, controlling spirit arts and defeating opponents effortlessly, save for a few instances where he encounters stronger adversaries or situations where the opponent could have been facing a more formidable challenge. This would provide a sense of balance and realism.
In terms of character development, it takes until around Volume 15-16 for significant growth, with the MC gradually getting closer to certain individuals. If you prefer a harem novel with minimal romance progression across more than 20 volumes, or if you find the focus on building affection among characters overwhelming, this might not be the book for you.
Despite these reservations, I would still rate it 4 stars, acknowledging the effort put into creating the story.

Xu Ze has experienced nine previous lives as the main antagonist, always defeated by Ye Fan and his ten ex-lover heroines at the end. In his tenth and final life, he expected a similar plot. However, the objective took an unexpected turn – he needed to win back the hearts of the 10 heroines, who now remember their past nine lives, after abandoning them.
There were a few cons to mention. The author's writing style was initially unappealing, with repetitive information, particularly about Qu Qinghan's complex feelings towards Xu Ze. Some characters, like Lu Qingqing and Nalan Yun, received less development than others, which was a minor annoyance. And the one-dimensional nature of most heroines, aside from Gu Ling and Yao Ling, contributed to a blandness.
On the positive side, the protagonist's growth was commendable. Xu Ze shifted from a villain to someone trying to make amends with the heroines. His protective instincts towards them and his actions, like saving Qi Tian and involving Su Muxue, showcased his character development. The humor, focusing on Xu Ze's numerous relationships, added a light touch.
Qu Qinghan, initially my least favorite, emerged as a standout character due to her selflessness and transformation into a supportive first wife. The interactions between the heroines strengthened their bonds, particularly after Qu Qinghan rescued Lu Qingqing, Jing Xiaoxuan, and Lin Yu'er from danger.
The system played a minimal role, which I appreciated since it didn't overshadow the story with unnecessary statistics. Overall, the book provided a decent balance between relatable characters and a well-paced plot.

As of Chapter 43, it's true that the romantic aspect isn't abundant at present, but it's not entirely absent either. The story primarily revolves around the plot and character development. Danae, our protagonist, doesn't possess an overpowering charisma or cunning demeanor. Some might perceive her as timid or frustrating due to her efforts to reject everything, but I find her relatable – she's quite realistic in her approach.
The relationship dynamics between Danae and the main love interest (ML) are intriguing. Initially, she chooses not to engage with him after learning about her novel's ending, fearing she can't change someone alone. However, their friendship eventually blossoms through his persistence. The plot involves her attempting to avoid certain situations, only to face setbacks and ultimately giving in, creating a sense of fated inevitability.
While the pace of the romantic storyline might seem slow, the connection between Danae and Reynolds is gradually evolving. Reynolds starts off with a darker side as a child, but his character matures, and their friendship appears genuine and balanced, with both banter and genuine care.
As for the Original Love Interest (OGFL), it initially seems like a potential issue, but there are hints of manipulation involved. It's frustrating to see her treated unfairly, but the author leaves room for deeper exploration.
There hasn't been much romantic development beyond Reynolds and Serik, a new character not from the original novel. The other original MLs include Danae's brothers and a disliked crown prince, whose portrayal generates intense negative emotions, but their roles remain to be seen.
What sets this story apart is the introduction of Reynolds' mother, who exhibits an intense, almost obsessive interest in Danae, creating an eerie dynamic that the author promises to delve into further.
It's important to note that not every book needs to revolve solely around romance. This one offers a mix of despair, frustration, heartwarming moments, and humor, making it worth giving a chance despite its slower pacing.

I have watched the show then promptly bought the physical novel. After being unable to reread it(relatively new to novels so I was slow as and bored), I stopped. Then I tried to read this once and that was lost to the great reset. Then I tried again to yet another failure due to it being the 4th time I had covered that part. After yet another I am here for luck number 6. Wish me luck…
Sigh man it p*ss*s me off that such good story is getting fisted by its creator no less.
