The landlady mentions the ex-boyfriend and suddenly Mo Tingyan is this quiet, brooding mess. He doesn't explode—he just goes silent in the car, which is somehow worse. And then he uses her livestream as leverage to get her to cook for him. Like, the man is playing 4D chess while pretending to be a toddler throwing a tantrum. Their dynamic is fascinating because neither of them is giving an inch. Wen Zhi sets boundaries—'We're just living together out of convenience, I won't change my routine for anyone'—and Mo Tingyan immediately tests every single one of them. But he also respects her work. He watches her stream from the balcony instead of barging in. He learns her schedule. He remembers she doesn't like spicy food. The three-day separation scene though—when she walks through the door and he pulls her in like she's oxygen—that's the moment I actually felt something. Three days and he's already starving? And then Mo Tingjue calls at the worst possible moment and Mo Tingyan handles it with this cold, vicious precision. 'Like mother, like son.' Oof. My question is: how long can this arrangement stay 'just convenient' before one of them admits they're in way too deep?

After the way he kept degrading & raping her. There should have been a lot of groveling. Just apologizing after abusing & assaulting someone is not enough. FL was too weak & spineless.
