I would give this higher praise, as the writing and translation are exceptional. However, there are a few issues preventing me from doing so. The author employs certain writing techniques I dislike, which persist consistently across their work and are common in many Korean novels. They often begin with an intriguing future event, followed by an unresolved central conflict, using these hooks to entice readers through the story. Unfortunately, webnovels, being serialized and reliant on maintaining suspense, often result in authors dragging out the plot indefinitely to keep readers engaged.
This approach often leads to unfinished stories due to burnout or读者流失, completing not because of a satisfying conclusion, but because the financial incentives diminish. I would advise caution when starting this novel – especially considering it's ongoing. Even if the translator catches up, the unresolved plotlines might still frustrate.
As of around Chapter 100, my prediction holds true. Misunderstandings and lack of communication drive the narrative, with the female leads taking on more central roles. The original plot catalyst remains unaddressed, with intermittent hints to keep readers hopeful for resolution. Consequently, I can only give it a 2 out of 5 rating.
Is it just me or is the novel getting pretty Cheeky
This is good.
The only one who appreciates my mastery of poetry. Thank you, kind sir
This is a good omegaverse novel. If you are finding a novel that is light and don't have much complexity in the plot, you will definitely love this novel. The chemistry and interaction between the two protagonists is cute and wholesome. There is no unnecessary misunderstanding and jealousy. The seme is respectful, gentle, and kind; he is not the typical of seme that was hyped as a smart cunning CEO but became brain dead when dealing with problems with the uke. On the other hand, the uke is cute and a sunny type person. It is very refreshing to see an uke that have a strong mentality; he doesn't cry just because someone bully him or just silently accept grievances. He is cute but not naive or gullible. Another factor that I love is that it is translated well and it is in seme's pov.
I just wished that the author pay attention more to the villain plot, I feel like it wasn't tackled more to the point that it just became filler plot in the novel.
Honestly..
Mc with average strength but somehow gets powerups during battles
Basically naruto.
Apologizes for every single thing which is highly annoying, usual trope where he’s always underestimated although his power was already proven.
Christ, this is why I mostly read Cn and Kr novels.
To the author
Pls make it where he would get a mission to save the pandas and teacher them kung fu so we get a bunch of kung fu pandas :)
Others seems to love this novel, but it's not my cup of tea. The plot focuses on comedy before all else, and so, the plot and reasoning for many things is insanely illogical.
The MC is really dull headed, to the point that reading the first 30 chapters was a torturous experience. Things improve a bit after that, though not by much.
Too many haha elements, too little solid plot. Not recommended.
Yeah I second this I can’t read the novel if the whole thing is bad translation, have you read on yet? I’m only at C6 and already tired of the bad translation
Based on the previous review, I comprehend their reservations, so I'll give it four stars as it's still decent, but with a caveat. Although not an accurate representation, the novel's title could be rephrased as:
"Ex-Knight, The Ultimate Battle Addict Battles On"
The story delivers on some aspects of a king's knowledge, but it's important to note that the protagonist starts as a knight and her primary focus is her unquenchable thirst for combat. This might disappoint those seeking a more traditional royal narrative. Personally, I enjoy it, but the plot leans heavily towards action rather than the governance one might expect from a king's tale. In short, it's enjoyable but might not meet all expectations, particularly for those looking for a deep exploration of royalty.
If you like soul of negary, you can try read Abyss Demon Of All Realm
