author got tired of working on it, if youd look at the release dates for the last 100 or so chapters youll see he only released a chapter or two per month, sometimes even a chapter for 2 or 3 months... he has other novels he is working on now though im not sure if he releases chapters for them more frequently, havn't read them...

It's been ages since I felt compelled to write a review, but here goes. This novel is truly exceptional; it captured my attention so intensely that I stayed up all night reading – quite unusual for me, considering my habit of giving up on books halfway through.
The characters are where the magic happens. Our protagonist, despite being a bit silly and innocent, possesses a charm that piques the interest of the main love interest (ML). On the contrary, he's also incredibly intelligent and resourceful, not easily taken in by others, except for the ML, of course. The way he navigates and manipulates schemes is both fascinating and unique to his character. His occasional naivety is due to a tricky war god, adding an amusing layer to the story.
As for the ML, he starts off as a detached and ascetic immortal, but his transformation into a lovable, jealous figure trying to win affection through cunning tactics is hilarious to witness. His character development is a delightful read.
Now, onto the plot. Politics and power struggles aren't exactly my forte, but they were engaging enough not to make the story boring. The plot had a good flow, with unexpected twists that kept me hooked, and no glaring inconsistencies.
In summary, this novel is a standout gem, perfect for binge-reading and revisiting. It's a captivating read that won't disappoint.

So far, I'm liking our FL character. But here's a spoiler: Her biological family sent someone who treats her poorly just because she's being rude. And when her friend defended her, the other person actually admitted their rudeness, which really annoyed me (I wish I could add an angry emoji, but you can imagine my frustration).
Actually, there's a decent gender-bending novel from China. The protagonist has a somewhat ambiguous appeal, as they're neither universally loved nor disliked. They're a lazy individual who might have led an uneventful life without the system's intervention. Even with acquired abilities, they don't take initiative, which can be frustrating. However, they aren't unintelligent; they possess a keen understanding of their emotions, needs, and can assess themselves objectively, which stands out.
The supporting characters may not be as fleshed out as the main character, but their realistic traits contribute to a well-rounded world-building. The system is undoubtedly powerful, yet paradoxically, it doesn't make the protagonist complacent. Instead, it pushes them to the limits by transforming their mind and body into a female and compelling them to follow its commands. This constant manipulation creates a mixed feeling – I find both attraction and厌恶 in the way it forces the MC to accept their new female identity, such as during a surprise crossdressing event at their own birthday party with friends, family, and their brother present, making the situation highly uncomfortable.
