Okay so let me just say this plot twist hit me like a truck. Pearl smears clay on Little Mud's dress, then when Yin Xuetong's dress gets ruined, somehow Dou Siyi ends up taking the blame? The writers room deserves a raise. Let me walk through this because it's actually genius-level misdirection. Pearl is the one who sneaks out during pottery class and ruins Little Mud's dress. But then Yin Xuetong's dress gets ruined too — and this is where it gets messy. Yin Xuetong, caught in a fit of jealousy, also gets clay on her dress. But here's the thing: Pearl had used Dou Siyi's blue-purple mixed clay. So when the teachers find clay on Yin Xuetong's dress, the blue-purple specks point directly to Dou Siyi. Pearl essentially set up the perfect frame job. And the teachers? Oh my god. Teacher Han literally says "as long as you admit it, we won't call your dad." That's not guidance, that's coercion. They KNEW it was probably Pearl but chose the easy path because the Dou family has no power. The fact that Xiao Ling Bao literally saw Pearl do it and tried to expose her, and the teachers shut her down with "you must have evidence" — that line hit me so hard. Evidence? She's THREE. The ending with Yin Xuetong pulling the plastic wrap out of Pearl's pocket? CHILLS. Absolute chills. The plot threads are all coming together and I am HERE for it.
