Firstly, people's fixation on Kishiar's (Main Character's Lover, ML)'s virginity is perplexing. At 29, he faces a unique curse that puts his life at risk. Royals like him don't form families or have children due to their short life expectancy. If he had previous relationships, what's wrong with enjoying his limited time? Some might even prefer him remain a virgin, but it's not a prerequisite for his character development.
Regarding the perfume chapter, some readers can't let go of minor issues. The scent was from a trusted confidante, not a romantic partner. While Kishiar's virginity is uncertain, it doesn't imply he engaged in casual encounters; many of those stories were meant to tarnish his reputation.
ML's actions were genuine, and he didn't protect the MC (Main Character) intentionally, causing them emotional distress. However, it's true that Kishiar concealed aspects of his past. Accusations of not shielding the MC are unfounded, especially given his pre-regression care for him, even post-death.
Claiming the MC is always second to ML is misleading. Yuder and Kishiar are distinct geniuses with different abilities. Yuder excels in his irregular awakened power and combat skills, while Kishiar possesses divine power, sword aura, magic, and a broader set of abilities. Their combat prowess is considered equal by many, and it's not a competition of strength but rather a demonstration of their complementary skills.
The story includes a chapter debating Yuder and Kishiar's abilities, highlighting their parity. Before Kishiar's curse affected him, Yuder even held an advantage.
Lastly, I urge readers to read the novel thoroughly rather than relying on incomplete information or spoilers to judge its quality. Understanding the context is crucial to appreciating the story.
Among the limited selection of decent isekai novels with a genuine plot and no harem or overly-simplistic love stories, one stood out. Unfortunately, from Chapter 47 onwards, the translations were abysmal, causing me immense frustration, leading me to abandon the book. The storytelling pace was somewhat sluggish due to the author's attempt to establish the extensive backstory; considering the main character had skipped over 30 years, this approach was comprehensible. Combat scenes were enjoyable, featuring a unique blend of summoning magic and close-quarters combat, which was a hallmark of the protagonist's style.
Having completed "The Richman's Odyssey", Book 2, I must say it's an engaging and thought-provoking read. The protagonist's transformation from wealth-driven to self-discovery is commendable. The plot twists kept me on the edge, challenging conventional notions of success and morality. The character development was rich, making me empathize with both triumphs and struggles. A captivating tale that resonates with contemporary themes, leaving me eager for more.
