It used to be decent junk food, but now it can't even manage that. The chapters are so short and lack content that you'd need to stack at least five or six to equal one chapter of another junk food novel.
For example: the group approaches a cat shop and walks in, one chapter. The main character (MC) pets a cat, and the women around him swoon, one chapter. The MC adopts one of the cats, one chapter. The group walks home and decides to go swimming, one chapter. The MC goes to a changing room, and the women around him swoon at the thought of him removing his clothes, one chapter. The MC comes out of the changing room, and the women around him swoon at his torso, one chapter.
This pattern continues for the last 200 or so chapters. I think the original author has run out of ideas and is just milking it to buy time.
I am overjoyed to have discovered this novel! I recently finished Volume 2 and it was quite a stressful read. Now, I've learned there's even a Volume 5 in progress. It brings immense happiness. Thank you so much for your dedication to writing; it means the world to me ❤️. If I couldn't find the rest, my anticipation after finishing only the second part would have driven me crazy. But now, I can enjoy the entire series, and I must say, the translation is exceptional. It's clearer and more accessible than other sources I've come across. Your work is truly outstanding ??.
Regarding those who criticize ML for being cold and strict, I sometimes question if they have truly read the novel, as it explicitly explains the reasons behind it. To clarify, he was unwell and struggled with self-control. In later parts of the story, he acknowledges his shortcomings and starts to transform. It irks me when people jump to conclusions without finishing the book and spreading baseless claims.
The rating fluctuates between 3 and 4 due to inconsistencies in quality across different story arcs. The main character, Letian, can be seen as a version 2 of Chen Liguo, but with heightened shamelessness, lasciviousness, and cold-heartedness. Assigned a mission to match the female lead (FL) with a superior male lead, he懈怠于职责, aiming for a carefree existence, often resorting to seduction to get close to the ML. He故意挑衅 the ML's possessiveness, leading to situations where he is 'forced' into a relationship with the male lead, despite it appearing non-consensual to an outsider.
From the MC's perspective, however, these actions are entirely consensual, as he enjoys being confined and repeatedly taken advantage of. In some storylines, the readers may feel同情 for the male leads who fall for Letian, as he treats them primarily as tools. The source of conflict mainly lies in the MC's impending 'death' after seven days, which prevents him from living a full life in any world. Despite this serious backdrop, the narrative is often humorous due to Letian's unpredictable behavior, which lightens the mood and provides comic relief amidst potential angst.
Compared to darker novels like "Strategy to Capture That Scum Gong" or "Perfect Destiny," this story offers a more lighthearted read, as the protagonist doesn't have to adhere strictly to character traits in his thoughts. I stopped reading after the first eleven chapters, finding the repetitive theme of a possessive ML and heartless MC tiresome. I might revisit later to check for character growth.
So I'll start, I've heard good reviews.
I see, there might be a problem searching I guess or it might be a bug
we thrive on processed garbage
The Mc is gay, although the story really isn’t focused on romance and there isn’t romance for the first 150 or so chapters, there are also some other characters that are gay but then again it really isn’t the main point and so far I’ve been liking the story
Is there romance? I mean, I know something happened at the end like a harem or something like that but I don't know if the main character sleeps with them or if it remains unfinished. I want to know that, if you know, tell me then, please.
who the heck puts (Harem) in (CATEGORIES)?
So what I understand so far is that this is about an ex-veteran who is now a police officer, story is about him face slapping young masters.
Honestly this kind of thing ain't my cup of tea because the build ups to the face slapping is so d*mn frustrating, since you have to read all their b*tch*ng while mc acts like he doesn't exist, and humiliating people, whether they deserve it or not, isn't something I can get off to.
So in total there's only 2 volumes out??
