I can't seem to stop helping. The plot is fantastic, and I adore every character. It's just sad that everyone is separating! I hope they reunite at the end. And did I mention how nervous and worried I am for Mr. Gu?
Sometimes I forget this is an apocalyptic novel because I get too engrossed in the food porn. Still, I love every thrilling scene! It keeps me on the edge of my seat all the time. Often, you worry because it's so hard to tell if a character will survive a zombie attack, making your heart race faster and faster. Then you hit the next chapter button, and another, and another, until you find yourself unable to stop reading!
I love both the main character and the love interest so much. The romance between them is just right—still a slow burn at this point (I’m currently at chapter 80), but not too fast, and I appreciate that. My dear love interest, you've got to stop playing the son card too well, or you might get son-zoned at the end.

I would categorize this novel as "junk food" within the tower genre, lacking coherence and internal logic. If you're looking for an OP protagonist battling powerful monsters in a tower-climbing setting with stats and skills, it might be entertaining, despite its flaws.
The inconsistency starts with the tower entry, which appears random at first, yet most characters are affiliated with guilds once inside. There should be a logical explanation for this apparent preparation, but it's never clarified. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's an oddity.
Another example is the protagonist's discovery of hidden secrets, which surpass what larger guilds or governments know. While plausible, it's implausible that nobody has explored these secrets before, especially for training or resource gathering. It's hard to swallow that no one has tried to exploit these opportunities.
The MC's luck is another issue. Initially, he experiences extraordinary luck leading to skills and opportunities. However, the tower suddenly grants him unlimited lives without a clear reason, apart from having two high-ranking skills. This reward doesn't make sense, especially when most characters have limited lives compared to his infinite ones, which don't seem to significantly impact the plot.
In summary, while the novel offers an entertaining premise, its lack of internal consistency and illogical elements detract from the overall experience. It might still be enjoyable for fans of the genre who can overlook these issues.
This is such a delightful novel! I read up to the 12 translated chapters and then machine-translated the rest.
AxA (Alpha x Alpha) pairings are my absolute favorite in ABO novels because they are so rare! Often, there’s some twist where an Alpha turns out to be an Omega or was an Omega all along, so it’s refreshing when both main characters are actually Alphas (and stay that way, lol).
As the title suggests, the main character (MC) and love interest (ML) start off disliking each other due to a bad first impression.
The MC considers himself a typical Alpha who prefers Omegas.
The ML, on the other hand, likes Alphas, but the MC doesn’t know this and assumes they are both straight. This leads to a lot of obliviousness and questioning from the MC.
There’s a good amount of hurt/comfort dynamics, especially with the whole "they can’t be apart from each other during the susceptible period" and school conflicts. Both characters get their moments as the "damsel in distress," so it’s not just the ML constantly saving the MC. I particularly enjoy how the ML evolves from being cold and distant to genuinely caring for the MC. The novel is relatively short, so the progression from enemies to friends is a bit quick but still feels reasonable.
The dynamic between them reminds me of *Saye*! The ML transfers to a new school, was the top student at his old school, and keeps bumping into the MC—they’re desk mates, next-door neighbors, and their pheromones are compatible despite both being Alphas. At one point, the MC even calls the ML ‘xuebai’ (a term for someone who is pure and innocent), which adds a cute touch.
It feels like one of those tender coming-of-age stories where the characters face their own challenges and gradually open up to each other. While the novel doesn’t delve too deeply into these issues, the focus is clearly on the blossoming friendship and romance between the main characters. Some events do seem to happen out of nowhere with little buildup, but this isn’t meant to be a complex or deep novel. , it’s very sweet and a quick, enjoyable read. I’d give it an easy four stars.
The plot is incredibly engaging, and I adore the personalities of both the main characters and the supporting cast! The touch of humor really helps to lighten the mood of the story as well.
