Another amazing story! I was skeptical at first having read the synopsis a few times if it would be something I would enjoy. But Alle blew it out of the water the twist and turns, the gut wrenching heartache for the characters. I cried and I smiled so much while reading this book.

I keep thinking about the setting of this entire sequence and how the revolving restaurant works on a symbolic level. It's a place that literally goes in circles—people come in, things happen, people leave, but everything keeps spinning. And that's exactly what's happening with these characters' relationships. Sheng Xia and Gu Cheng'an have been stuck in this same pattern for two years: cold distance, unspoken resentment, forced proximity. The revolving restaurant represents that cycle. But here's the thing—the chapter is titled "Recognizing Mistakes and Making Amends Is a Great Virtue," and Sheng Xia actually does something different here. She apologizes. She takes accountability for her past behavior with Lu Xiaoxiao. That's a genuine moment of growth in a story that's been stuck in repetition. The spicy food Gu Cheng'an orders is another symbol I can't shake. He's never eaten spicy before. He orders it for Sheng Xia without saying why. It's his way of showing care without admitting he cares, which is so thematically consistent with his character. He can't say the words, so he does things instead. And the blood—Lu Xiaoxiao's bloody nose becomes this false evidence, this manufactured truth that threatens to destroy Sheng Xia. It's almost like the story is saying that in this world, appearances and manufactured narratives matter more than actual truth. The waitress who could testify is just a commodity to be bought.
Definitely a great read loved the plot.

This story is so interesting that I'm completely screaming.... I want more!! Aurora's character is good. I like the fact that she's feisty and not some weak female.
I'm wondering about any updates for this book. It's May 2024, and the last chapter listed is Chapter 53.
