I'm quite puzzled by the negative reviews. While it's true that understanding the MC's reality might require some imagination, it's not a deal-breaker. The story is genuinely enjoyable as the protagonist skillfully exploits his system and watches his world evolve. Battles are described vividly and never feel dull. The civilizations of both enemies and allies are well-developed, making their interactions with the MC engaging and entertaining.
This is a world where transcendent abilities are the norm, and ordinary civilizations are virtually nonexistent due to technological disparities. The MC's world operates on magic and runes, which creates a fascinating contrast when they encounter Earth-like technologies. It's a delightful read.
The MC has a laid-back personality, unbothered by fame; his primary goal is to develop his world. That's why he enters competitions for monetary rewards, often surprising everyone with his unexpected success. He's a genuine underdog.

And this novel delivered exactly what I was hoping for. By the time I began reading, I was already well-enchanted, having read all the available webcomics first.
In terms of character development, the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) start off with a spark, gradually building their connection over the course of the story, reaching a simmer by chapter 99 or beyond. Although they haven't quite reached a full boil, this isn't labeled as a steamy romance. Both characters seem to fall simultaneously due to the slow-burning nature of their relationship, but the ML takes the initiative slightly faster than the FL, who's still using her acting skills as a mental barrier.
The plot isn't overly complex, but it's not simplistic either. I'd describe it as a balanced mystery – the crime's many suspects and motives are clear from the beginning, but identifying the mastermind is the main focus, which they gradually uncover through evidence gathering. However, that's not my primary reason for reading – I enjoy the slow progression of their relationship.
FL, being an actress, is visually captivating, but I appreciate that her personality is grounded and relatable, without any extraordinary powers or hidden secrets. She may be a bit slow to catch on at times, but she has a distinct character, treating the ML uniquely even if she's unaware. She approaches her tasks with determination, another aspect I find appealing.
The translations are solid; they do a good job conveying the story. Overall, this novel is a comfortable, easy read. It's not groundbreaking, but it provides a satisfying experience akin to a fulfilling sandwich with a refreshing glass of iced tea.
The characters lack depth, and I don't dislike the main male lead (ML) solely because of his low emotional intelligence. However, his compulsive lying is grating, not endearing. I particularly厌恶女主角 (FL), as she constantly points out the ML's EQ issues while dismissing his emotions, attributing his inability to love to her own insecurities without providing a proper explanation. Her past doesn't justify any trauma or relationship failures, nor does she mention being bullied or mistreated. Surprisingly, she seems capable of standing up for herself in other situations but becomes cowardly and insensitive when it comes to her feelings.
The angst surrounding the FL's jealousy over another woman, simply because the ML rejected her online advances, feels forced and unconvincing. The author's portrayal of this character is frustrating. The coincidental encounters between Gu You and FL, which seem to magically deepen their bond, border on unrealistic, especially compared to the lack of development between the ML and FL despite living under the same roof. The author seems biased in favor of the plot and comedic moments.
Additionally, the antagonist's obsession with the ML, Xiaoya Bai, is questionable. According to the original source, her desire was genuine love, as seen in her pursuit despite financial constraints. In her next timeline, she even accepts GY's profession as a gamer, believing he loves her. However, the character's portrayal as a one-dimensional villain, obsessed with money and fixated on FL, detracts from her complexity.
Despite these shortcomings, I'm giving two stars for the translators' efforts, as their humor and wit kept me engaged till this point. Thank you for their contribution.

It cleverly satirizes clichéd works while subtly incorporating the author's perspective, which resonates with many readers, although I'm surprised Chinese readers might relate to it too.
The author expertly tackles overused plotlines, pointing out the illogical, absurd, or hurtful aspects that we may have overlooked. Although it stretches some stories, the core message remains intact. I've read other reviews that align with my thoughts, like the fact that the author maintains a consistent viewpoint, making Ning Shi a strong, independent character who doesn't cater to men. However, there are instances where it seems contradictory, like when the author writes about women desiring to be dominated, which left me puzzled.
The book isn't perfect, as webnovels often lack the meticulous planning of professionally written books. Some story arcs struck me as extreme, like the one involving a new actress standing up to the entertainment industry's unspoken rules. The main character's handling of the situation seemed insensitive, especially considering Ning Shi's advocacy against such injustice.
