I'm giving this novel a solid 5-star rating, despite not being a professional reviewer. The enjoyment factor alone earns it that distinction. Although some people draw comparisons to "Nidome no Yuusha," they mainly share a revenge theme and a female companion. This particular light novel contains a sadistic element and a狠角色 MC, but it's milder than "Nidome no Yuusha," which I appreciate.
Unlike the主角 Kaito in "Nidome no Yuusha" who seems broken and unhinged, Iori maintains his sanity, which adds to my satisfaction with the story. In "Nidome no Yuusha," Kaito reincarnates to the beginning, where nobody recognizes him, making his revenge less impactful. However, in this novel, Iori's reincarnation into the future allows for a more gratifying revenge arc, as the betrayers remember him and face consequences.
From a personal perspective, if you seek extreme sadism and an insane protagonist, go for "Nidome no Yuusha." If you prefer a revenge plot with a sane MC, this novel is the way to go. Both books have charming heroines, but I'm more fond of Elfi.
The translation is decent, though its quality may vary depending on your English proficiency and source. Volume 1 can be found in traitorAIZEN's PDF, and the rest is available on Norvablog.
In summary, this novel offers a different take on revenge with a more balanced protagonist, making it a compelling choice for readers seeking a satisfying story without the same intensity as "Nidome no Yuusha."
"Aww! I'm growing fonder of this clever writer with each passing chapter.? Although it's technically a short story, I can't help but crave for additional installments."
Scoring the sacred body of the ancients from the get-go
I am Fated Villain
Villain Retirement (mc is pure evil)
Birth of Demonic Sword (It's a really good story albeit a slow one)
Dungeon Defense
The Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich
Grasping Evil (This is on hiatus but all I can say is this is a masterpiece)
Regressor Instruction Manual (manipulative mc whose soul is rotten as hell)
Second Life Ranker (Ruthless mc taking revenge for his brother)
The King of the Battlefield
Warlock of the Magus World
Otherworldly Evil Monarch
Custom Made Demon King
These are the ones I remember right now

Are there any books like this?
re-reading again huhu
Oh my goodness, this was absolutely fantastic! The storyline and characters were beautifully crafted, particularly the main character (MC) and the male lead (ML). The depiction of their emotions was so genuine that it deeply resonated with me, especially during the heart-wrenching goodbye scene where I couldn't help but shed tears. The ML's unwavering pursuit of love had me swooning! The side stories were adorable, showcasing a softer and more determined side of the ML, one who conquers love without complications and follows his instincts, even revealing a darker aspect of himself. However, I'm curious if they tied the knot in those extra scenes, and if they ever came clean to Grandpa Li – that's what left me wanting more. Overall, it was an incredible read!
PS: I would love to read a story about Xi Zhiwei and what transpired between him and his ex. (:(
"❤❤❤ Very, very, very good indeed! The romance developed later, but it was fitting too. The character development is outstanding; growth and change are inevitable, but for the better. This novel truly made me appreciate that birth doesn't determine one's achievements. Talented individuals may be rare, but those with unwavering dedication are even rarer. While circumstances might have favored some in their youth, life ultimately forces everyone to mature, owning up to their mistakes and accepting the regrets that cannot be reversed.
In short, it's challenging for ordinary folks to comprehend the minds of extraordinary individuals, just as those with lofty aspirations often struggle to empathize with those without them.
Minor Spoiler Alert:
PS: I personally felt the antagonist's demise was too easy. Perhaps due to his age and lack of a suitable heir, a son-in-law can never replace a biological one. There were loose ends, but more importantly, I must express my frustration – why did you kill off the liveliest character? I'm so disappointed, I've been crying buckets! My eyes are swollen, so I need to get some ice. The author also has insightful views on love, with many characters choosing to remain single or facing circumstances, like death, created by the author... *sigh.*
Despite all that, dear author, I still love you, despite wanting to send you a virtual knife... ? sigh... ? sigh... ?..."
"Engrossing! 'Global Tower's journey with the SSS-Rank genius unfolds a captivating world of divine extraction. The storyline is compelling, weaving together power and intrigue, as characters evolve from mortal to god-like. The author's vivid descriptions bring the action to life, leaving readers eager for more. A thrilling ride that challenges both intellect and imagination, I can't put it down!"
