Keeps you interested
This chapter is SO much richer than it first appears. On the surface it's a fun con story, but dig a little deeper and you've got this horrifying commentary on power, mortality, and how civilization is just a thin veneer over primal desperation. The life-threads motif is everything. Ling Xiao holds these glowing threads—the literal essence of human lifespan—and dismisses them as worthless: 'They can't even be woven into foot-wiping cloth.' But the nobles would kill for them. The same threads she considers trash are the difference between life and death for these people. It's a perfect metaphor for how value is entirely subjective, how the powerful see what the desperate would sacrifice everything for. And then there's the coffin. Prince of Chu faints from disappointment, and his heir immediately has the prepared coffin repainted. Not a new one—a repainted one. This man had already planned for his death, already accepted it, and the mere possibility of extending his life shattered him so completely he couldn't survive the letdown. The coffin isn't just a symbol of mortality here, it's a symbol of how death anxiety controls every decision these people make. The beauty pill vs. longevity pill distinction is brilliant too. Ling Xiao gives the Emperor something that makes him look young—superficial, cosmetic—while the nobles were willing to trade actual human lives for real extended years. The chapter is basically asking: what are you really chasing? The appearance of life, or life itself? And the answer, apparently, is that nobody in this court actually cares about anything except their own survival.
I've finished reading this novel, and it's brimming with cuteness, fluff, and comedy. There's almost no angst. It was a very relaxing story for me. ALL OF THEM are just too cute!!

The novel appears to be shifting its emphasis from a one-dimensional overpowered protagonist to a strategic approach. Although it's still early in the translation, the recent battle showcased thoughtful and logical tactics. Additionally, the translation quality has been impressive, making for an enjoyable reading experience.

I don't know why a lot of people hate this novel but this is surely a good novel with explanations and good storyline. Although the story line seemed to be working around villains provoke mc and mc crushing them, author give credible reasons and characters who will help mc in crushing them. Harems members are crucial for linked events and storylines and they aren't annoying in all way. This is definitely a good novel which i read till the end. First one i read till the end is mages are too op and this is second one.
C111 did the translation change? They changed hero to warrior and all the names are odd.
