sigh...the only reason I read this even though the story was all over the place is because it was a very very very rare r18 no-harem. Now it is no longer that. I am very sad.

An excellent story! One of the best I've had the good fortune to stumble upon while randomly looking for something to read. The pacing is excellent, the character and world design is well thought out, the update speed is up there with the best, and other than some minor grammar and spelling errors the writing is solid. 10 out of 10, I'm about to read it again.

If you're a meticulous reader that goes deeper into the how and why of things and sometimes base your logic into the real world, then I won't recommend this. But, if you like an Apocalyptic, Zombie themed novel with evolution as the main dish, and appreciates "a lot" of females in a novel with every kind you can think of, then welcome to Mutagen. I'm at the latest chapter so far, c.363, I just came back reading it after being a bit disappointed at c344? Still, I came back to make this review.The story has become less appealing to me presently. There are too many side characters mostly female that I can't get myself to like or give importance to them. And I've even forgotten most of the early side characters like his past classmates, friends and people he saved that tagged along with their family. There's TOO MUCH CLICHE mainly caused by side characters popping here and there. And the cycle continues. Again: THERE ARE SO MANY FEMALE CHARACTERS! I don't get it!
