The topic has been discussed previously, but this particular instance truly exhibits squandered potential. The initial concept is intriguing, but the execution falls flat. New characters are introduced without clear motives, often feeling forced into the story. The plot suffers from a similar issue; despite giving it numerous chances, I had to stop reading at Chapter 103.
In that chapter, the church and its followers pursue a supposed false saint, which turns out to be a ploy by a demonic infiltrator within the clergy. Some benevolent church members help the saint escape, but the main character (MC) takes her under their protection. Events unfold, and the MC devises a plan to deceive others by having an enemy impersonate the saint for sacrifice. The true mastermind, the demon, escapes, leaving everyone to realize their mistake too late – the fake saint is dead or appears so.
However, here's where things take a baffling turn: the MC decides not to inform those who genuinely aided the real saint and her friends of her survival. They might use hypnotism or truth serum later, which feels completely contrived! At this stage, it's hard to comprehend why the MC would choose such a convoluted path, especially given the trust these people share. Many of the saint's friends were unaware of the situation until it was over, and those who helped the escape were not captured, preventing further harm.
Moreover, the MC had been using magic to隔音重要谈话场所 earlier, yet conveniently forgets about it now. That's an overly forced attempt at a martyr complex that feels forced, bordering on absurd. While there's still room for redemption through humor, retconning, or creative storytelling, the current writing remains subpar. The forced nature of this particular plot twist is glaring, to say the least.
This novel was truly an exceptional reading experience. Despite initial hesitation due to mixed reviews and critiques about the author's writing style, I found myself thoroughly captivated. I became so engrossed that I devoted an entire week to reading it, even if the pacing did slow down around Chapter 220, it was still incredibly hard to put down.
The plot is filled with intense emotions and heart-wrenching scenes that tugged at my heartstrings. The main characters' depths were a highlight, although their relationship, particularly the toxic dynamic between the main couple (CP), featured frustrating moments, especially with the main male character, Feng Ye, who displayed inconsistent behavior. However, witnessing the growth and resolution of their challenges was ultimately satisfying.
One aspect that stood out was the well-developed supporting cast, which added richness to the story compared to novels that solely center on the leads. The intricate political backdrop felt genuine, and the author's portrayal of ancient China's political landscape brought authenticity and immersion to the narrative.
From my personal perspective, this novel combined elements of QJJ and 2HA. If you enjoyed those two works, there's a high likelihood that you'll appreciate this novel as well.
While I understand that WotMW is a copy, it’s better than its source material.
Also, this one seems to be leaning towards the infinite dimensions-type genre where the MC invades all sorts of worlds from different genres, which isn’t my favorite, but it’s still pretty good.
Well if we are being honest not everyone would enjoy the middle and latter parts of the first arc but if you get through that It should be a breeze cause that's when all the fun begins everything before that was just getting rid of unnneeded baggage. I got hooked from about chapter 1( Ryu is such an arrogant bastrad that you'd feel p*ss*d if he abandoned it all and started being humble.) The beginning parts of the story although it might not seem like it the mc is far too immature and rash but you'll understand why pretty early on, but don't worry he'll grow out of it and become a good MC. When you start you should read everything up until the four kingdoms tournament then decided if you still want to continue. The chapters that followed were still interesting but I remembered it being such a drag that I skipped a few of them, but it definitely picked up after that. Another thing is the mc gets nerfed a lot but he always over comes them and becomes stronger
this is shit.....all the things done and said in this are just face slapping and that is it.
The characters don't get the consequences of their actions and are just free to do whatever they want. They are just shameless but you do expect them to be. The worst thing is they don't get what they deserve for a long time and that is why it is a repetitive face slapping and pointing stuff that should have made them a convict, pass on as nothing happened.
The main character's sister basically tried to rape the fiancee of the mc and what happened, nothing. She woke up the next day made a dry apology and then pretended like nothing happened.
