Although the premise involves a cunning yet vulnerable character, our protagonist Nagumo Hajime, being indirectly targeted by a classmate, this narrative does not revolve around revenge.
Nagumo starts as an ordinary anime fan, bullied by a classmate who genuinely tries to befriend him due to his kindness and unique traits. Summoned to another world, he finds himself in a dangerous situation alongside classmates, where jealousy and foolish actions lead to a tragic accident that leaves him disfigured – losing an arm, an eye, and nearly turning into a violent barbarian without the intervention of the female lead.
The central theme of this book is about betrayal and survival in a hostile new world, where both divine manipulation and monsters threaten one's existence. Following a traumatic experience, Nagumo, driven by the instinct to survive, becomes ruthless towards threats but maintains empathy for his companions and the innocent. I'd like to clarify that starting from Chapter 43, the translation quality takes a significant dip, as it appears to be heavily reliant on machine translation with numerous issues. You may encounter characters with inconsistent names within the same chapter, unclear genders, and mistranslations such as "Ballista" being mistakenly translated as "barista." This constant need for pause and mental correction disrupts the flow of the story, making it less enjoyable to read.
I gotta say that Volume 2: Chapter 94.2 gotta be the most wtf moment I've ever read . How can these people be so twisted ?!
