A great book, loved the story! Needs editing, but the errors don’t take away from the story at all :)
Just getting into it and confused had to reread it just to make sense
why the ending like that? that mary and jon case. huh :(
Can we just talk about the System for a second? Because that blushing potato avatar is genuinely the funniest character design I've seen in any novel, and also somehow the most emotionally honest one in the entire story. Ruan Zheng's reaction to it — nearly choking on her broth, screaming internally about how ugly it is — is such a perfect character moment. It shows she's still human, still capable of being annoyed by silly things even in the middle of life-threatening situations. And the System going invisible immediately? That's basically a child getting told their drawing isn't good and pouting. I laughed out loud. But the real character work here is in how Ruan Zheng handles the people around her. Zheng Xiujie is this perfect example of a man who genuinely believes he's the victim. He shows up, starts with threats, then pivots to gaslighting about family harmony, and somehow still expects gratitude. Her response — calling him a cripple, pointing out that his mother nearly killed her, asking if he really thinks her life is worthless — is so brutally efficient. She doesn't get emotional, she gets precise. And Ye Wentao! This guy is such a cartoon villain but also terrifyingly realistic. The fact that he's essentially a fanboy of the main couple, now redirecting all his hostility toward Ruan Zheng as the 'third party' in a marriage that was never his choice? That's the kind of toxic loyalty that exists in real life too. Her response to him — telling him to take the 'fortune' for himself, asking if the folds in his brain are filled with sewage — is so satisfying I want to frame it. The ward patients splashing foot-washing water on them? That's the community character moment I didn't know I needed. These people aren't just background noise — they're the moral compass of the story, and they're on Ruan Zheng's side.
Yeah still flashbacks. Tho I suppose it'd end in about 3-4 chaps at max. Just to inform y'all farther it's currently on chap 448. So it's on a full run
Lmao I was left off on around the same chapter
I just felt digusted how the ML coveted the FL knowing shes underage. Srsly. His method like pretending to be sick just to get her to give attention to him whilst knowing the girl is definitely avoiding him. Totally makes me skips some chapters.
So basically, the MC is a simp? Who does everthing for a women? Dumb
You should read Er gen's other novels
The first arc was highly promising with an impressively researched and well-thought-out world background, particularly in terms of mathematical theories. It felt like the author poured their heart into it. However, from arc 2 onwards, the quality dropped, resembling a rushed deadline. The main character (MC) became overpowered, solving problems with skills acquired earlier, which made the story slightly monotonous. While the slapstick humor was enjoyable, the love plot wasn't particularly deep, as it was decent but unremarkable.
The ending left me disappointed, as if the author ran out of creative ideas. A spoiler: In one arc, the MC possesses a Chinese shaman-like ability, and subsequent chapters revolve around it, contributing to the boredom. There were also scenes involving attempted rape, where the MC was coerced into consuming an aphrodisiac, leading to uncomfortable situations with the male lead (ML). The MC's dishonesty and lack of trust in ML in certain arcs further detracted from the overall experience.
In conclusion, only the first arc stood out as exceptional, while the later parts fell short of expectations.
Oh dear God, I sincerely pray for substantial character growth for the female lead because currently, she comes across as vindictive and dim-witted, almost like a doofus. If she's aware that the male lead is destined to become evil and is content in their current state, wouldn't her priority be to prevent situations that could fuel his anger and desire for revenge? Instead, she consistently mistreats him, worsening the circumstances. It's frustrating, to say the least.
Jep, and the military content is so refreshing.. so much reality.. until Krische's pururin takes over her mind and starts her Gundam and Magic hand grenade plan :D
