That's the only downside of IET novels. There's a level ahead of the previous top level until you reached godhood. Unless you reached Godhood you're ant. The only good thing about IET's previous novels is the arcs, etc. Not unlike other novels where the fate of the world (i.e.end goal) was introduced early & MC has no time to grow, just pure pressure growth.
This novel is truly exceptional. The plot is engaging, with well-developed characters that aren't one-dimensional. The villains are nuanced, not purely evil. The romance is gradual and meaningful, not overly dramatic. Let's delve into the key characters:
1. Shen Jin - A likable protagonist who starts off a bit naive but undergoes significant emotional and moral growth throughout the story. His mother,尽管有不完美的地方，但作为母亲很尽责，经历了一些转变，最终赢得了母性的救赎。尽管她有过贪婪，但她是为了家庭。
2. Shen Jin's father - A complex character, described as a "beast."
3. Tian Ya (Younger Sister) - Her storyline is tragic, marking a low point in the narrative. It's a poignant reminder of the challenges faced.
4. Shen Lie and Sang Luo - Both start as admirable characters, with minimal character progression but strong relationships. Shen Lie supports Sang Luo unwaveringly, striving to match her and protect her due to his love and respect.
5. Lu Family - The family dynamics mirror each other, with their children influenced positively by external factors.
6. Sang Luo's contributions - While not groundbreaking, she improves upon existing technologies like food recipes, ploughs, paper quality, and introduces crop rotation. The "invention" of odorless toilets is a notable touch.
7. The novel is a realistic portrayal of life, avoiding excessive political intrigue, which can detract from the story.

In short he's a character who managed to give reader's ptsd any time he was mentioned ,got the entire block skipping town when he popped up. Personally I feel like he makes schemers like Aizen look cute in comparison
