The story has a nice plot line. The most interesting thing is base of roman history and that is unusual, ! I like¡. Its has some grammars mistake, like pronoun, verbs etc. If you can found someone to do some proofreading that will be very nice.

The author does something really clever with pacing: they start with comedy (the shirtless deputy generals joke), drop into genuine tension (the spy revelation, Wei Zhao's icy tone), then release it all with her crying and him softening immediately. It's a rollercoaster in like three pages. The banquet scene is where I almost skimmed, honestly. Not because it's bad—it's genuinely funny—but because it's a long stretch of social maneuvering without the main couple together. Jiang Yihuan bouncing between Miss Wang, Pei Nianfang, and Young Master Cui is entertaining, but the narrative engine is idle for a bit. That said, the author saves it by ending on Young Master Cui's confrontation, which raises the stakes and pulls you back in. What I love is how the chapter breaks themselves create mini-cliffhangers. Chapter 17 ends with Wei Zhao carrying her back to the Wei residence like a prize. Chapter 18 opens with her sewing and dreaming about her brother, then immediately pivots to the banquet invitation. The structure keeps you turning pages because every scene ends on a note of either emotional vulnerability or social tension. The author knows exactly when to cut.
