Finally, you've updated this story after abandoning it for months! I love this story, but seriously you showed little respect to yr readers by taking several months 2 continue writing it.Glad your back now.Giving 2.5 stars this time, but will reconsider if you continue with regular updated chapters.
When will you update it?
second book I've read by this author. Enjoying it just as much as the first. highly recommend that story too. I like the consistency of updates.
Your story is so interesting. I would like to see how their friendship turns into a romance :) Keep writing!
Oh God! Loving every chapter of it!
most twisted story i ever read..
I need everyone to understand that Lu Xi trading roasted meat for Cheng Youyou's medicinal herb soup is genuinely one of the most wholesome moments in this entire novel and I will fight anyone who disagrees. On the surface, Lu Xi comes in with this coquettish, mocking tone—"You're so desperate you're eating grass now, but you haven't lost a single pound"—and you'd think she's just being mean for the sake of being mean. But then she steps into the cave (SHE HAS NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS CAVE BEFORE) and stares at the pot like her life depends on it. The author describes her secretly swallowing her saliva and Cheng Youyou's internal reaction is just pure amusement: "This greedy little cat version of Lu Xi was far more endearing than her usual bullying self." And then she BRINGS ROASTED MEAT. A prime cut from the thigh, no sinew. She could have just taken the soup and run, but no—she negotiated a trade. She wanted the weird bitter stuff bad enough to give up good meat for it. That's not greed, that's genuine care disguised as transactional behavior, and it's adorable. The moment that really got me was when Cheng Youyou notices Lu Xi's rounded belly and realizes the herbs aren't suitable for pregnant females. She doesn't just turn Lu Xi away—she says "I'll brew a version you can drink." She's making something NEW specifically for her. And when Lu Xi tries to grab the pot with her bare hands, Cheng Youyou asks her to pour it into a beast-hide pouch first because she's "not used to others using my stuff." Lu Xi's reaction—speechless, then rolling her eyes—felt so real. She's so used to people being nice to her that basic boundaries confuse her. "Even a useless thing like you can make it." She's insulting her while taking the herbs AND the recipe. That's love language, folks. I'm not crying, you're crying. This friendship—this weird, transactional, meat-for-herbs friendship—is going to be so important later and I can feel it.
This is a very good read, although has some little mistakes but other than that, it’s a very interesting story line. Well done to the author
This author has some of the best books I've read on this app, unfortunately she's unrated. If you are seeing this comment, then take it from me, this book is highly recommended. It's different in a good way.
If dark romance is all about beating, raping & assaulting a woman & then that woman falls for her abuser since he is too hot to resist then this genre is definitely not for people like me who prefers a woman with a spine & dignity not a horny doormat.
not that good but it's an ok ok book
I'm in love with the genre and blurb, and I'm not even half way into the story but I'm all in for Xanth. Lyra and Xanth!
