I really love this story so much. The plot is well written and the characters are likeable.
I need to talk about Su Hongdou because this girl is an absolute treasure and I am obsessed with her. On the surface, she's this icy, untouchable CEO type—drives a Maserati, has a personal assistant who trembles when she shows up unannounced, manages a media company that somehow prospers under her care despite her obvious lack of interest in doing anything. But then you peel back the layers and she's just… a hungry, lonely girl who talks to anime characters because nobody else listens to her. The contrast between her public persona and her private self is what makes her so compelling. And Shen Baizhou? Oh my god. He's this calm, collected guy who can physically overpower her without even trying, who does mental math to reassure her about her weight, who cooks leftover rice like it's a Michelin-star dish. But there's something underneath all that competence—a quiet vulnerability. He stayed only one night. One night! And then he just… left. No goodbye, no explanation. I kept thinking about that moment when she woke up and found the apartment empty, and her pout, and how she drove to work in a daze thinking about him. That's not just romantic tension, that's genuine emotional attachment forming. The workplace dynamics are equally fascinating. Shen Baizhou's colleagues—Zhang Xiaomei with her yogurt offerings, Wang Xiaopang with his over-the-top hospitality—they're not just comic relief. They show us what kind of person Shen Baizhou is by how they treat him. People respect him. Even the gossiping Mai Ziqi, who's clearly trying to create distance, can't deny that Shen Baizhou has earned something like reverence from his team. And then there's Sheng Jiong, this petty little man who thinks threatening a fresh graduate with an industry blacklist makes him powerful. The relationship between him and Shen Baizhou is pure antagonist energy, but it's also deeply pathetic. He's insecure, vindictive, and completely outmatched. I love how the author uses him to reflect Shen Baizhou's strength without Shen Baizhou having to say a single word about it.
