I need to talk about Yan Wenjing because this man is EVERYTHING and I'm already obsessed with him. Let's be real—for most of the original story, he was basically a prop. A rich background character whose only purpose was to make Shen Xuzhou look good by comparison. But now that we're actually IN the story with him, he's revealed himself as this incredibly composed, polite, and genuinely decent human being. The way he handles the bathroom scene is perfect. He sees her wounded, he gets the first-aid kit, he doesn't make a big deal out of anything. When she makes up that ridiculous excuse about practicing knife skills, he just... accepts it. No interrogation, no judgment. And then the shower scene! He catches her in the most embarrassing moment possible and his response is basically "that's my room." That's it. That's the whole interaction. He doesn't mock her, he doesn't threaten her, he doesn't even seem weirded out. He just states a fact and moves on. This is a man who has clearly dealt with far worse situations and has the emotional stability to match. The dynamic between them is so refreshingly different from the toxic mess with Shen Xuzhou. Shen Xuzhou treats her like an option, a backup plan, someone to use when he needs validation. Yan Wenjing treats her like... a person. A wife, yes, but someone he's willing to accommodate. When she asks for a hairdryer, he doesn't just hand it over—he has a servant bring it. When she needs clothes for the family dinner, he doesn't make her beg; Butler Chen just takes care of it because Mr. already approved it. The original owner was so blinded by her obsession with Shen Xuzhou that she never saw what was right in front of her. A handsome, wealthy, emotionally stable husband who literally just wants to live as polite strangers. And now Jiang Yunzhi is starting to realize that maybe, just maybe, the real prize was never the guy who made her cry—it was the guy who gives her ten million dollars and calls her "Mrs. Yan" with genuine respect.
Ang Ganda ng story kaka excited ...️
Honestly, I found the novel engaging up until around chapter 150. The concept was intriguing, introducing Kang-Yi-Sin, the protagonist, who in his previous life was a dog of a supervillain with mind control abilities, contributing to the downfall of Korea. Seeking revenge and redemption, he tries to save Korea and the world in his second life. Initially, the storytelling was well-paced and the character development was commendable.
However, issues began to arise later on. The narrative became slow due to unnecessary scenes and confusing plot points that didn't contribute to the story's progression. The protagonist, who started off as strategic and intelligent, transformed into someone who constantly talked about being a villain without实际行动. He didn't engage in typical villainous activities like theft or underworld operations, despite his vast knowledge.
The pace of the story dragged on, particularly when the focus shifted to describing the personal lives of his "children" within his villain organization, which felt irrelevant to the main plot. I found myself skipping large portions of the text, as it felt like 60-70% of the content was filler. The darker tone that was initially present blended with occasional humor, but the overall tone became lighter and the story停滞, losing its momentum.
While the initial idea had potential, the rushed publication schedule might have led to padding and a loss of focus on the original story arc. It's unfortunate that this affected the quality of the well-written parts. Despite these setbacks, I appreciate the author's effort.
In conclusion, while the start was promising, the novel failed to meet my expectations due to pacing issues and a shift in tone. Here's hoping the author can address these concerns in future works. Keep up the fight!
Thanks, but I've already read it. Sh*t is def amazing tho
