Is it just me, or I'm liking the sick fellow? hehehe ...
Great story and well written!
best read so far.
Someone like Bryce surely can't be gullible enough to take any food or drink from someone like Susan, considering everytging that happened with Angela? I hope you will surprise us with a plot twist after this because as it is now, it's not making sense.
Let me just say this: the setting in these chapters is doing SO much heavy lifting and I'm not even mad about it. The vegetable plot scene is vividly rendered—waist-high weeds, the crackling sound of burning dry stalks, Su Banxia's cloth shoes filled with dirt, her sweat-soaked clothes. You can FEEL the physicality of this place. It's not a romantic rural idyll; it's hard, dusty, backbreaking work under a clear blue sky with white clouds drifting slowly overhead. The author makes you taste the exhaustion. But what really impressed me is how the compound itself functions as a character. The women on adjacent plots aren't just background—they're a chorus, constantly commenting, judging, gossiping. 'Is the sun rising from the west now?' 'That Zhang Xiaolan—getting so close to someone like that and even helping her with farm work. Isn't she afraid of catching bad luck?' This is a community that polices its own through whispers, and Su Banxia is the outsider even though she's been there almost a year. Then there's Jiang's perspective—the office with three chairs pushed together against the wall, the coat draped over him like a blanket. The military compound's rigidity contrasts sharply with Su Banxia's messy, sweating, blistered determination in the dirt. Two different kinds of confinement, two different kinds of survival. The domestic space inside the apartment is also telling: the tidy kitchen, the spotless bathroom with everything 'neatly arranged from largest to smallest,' the clean cutting board. These details paint a picture of a woman trying to build order out of chaos, one small act at a time.
This story is so freakin good, it had me glued at the start of it. Love all the hot steamy parts as well. Can’t wait for more on this story and how it progresses on through with the storyline. Y’all need to pick this one up for sure!
Good author, able to write a sensible story, I appreciate that much of the spelling and grammar is correct compared to most self-published fiction. Fun story, easy reading, it progresses faster than it should in some places, and the chapters are too short for my liking, I got to Ch-74 in 6 hours.
Loved the story! It was a bit patchy in its flow though I understand with the flashbacks and all it can be tricky! What bothered me most however was that the book was not edited well. It had a lot of spelling and grammatical mistakes! If the book is complete I suggest that the author proof & edit it
Beautiful and lovely story. Loved the book. ...️...️...️
book was marked complete but it is not, no sign of part 2 and boom ends in the middle of something
