The author should take responsibility for the quality of this novel. If you're reading it, I recommend improving your understanding of writing. Believe me, this work is far inferior to Japanese light novels; it doesn't even come close to being engaging. The main character's unhealthy preoccupation with love is a major issue. It seems that Chinese authors often strive to make their protagonists relatable and human-like in their behavior, but they must learn to distinguish between likable characters and intellectually superior beings.
Absolutely fantastic. The comedy is top-notch, the characters are well-developed, and the plot is both impressive and original, with no typical isekai vibes. It skillfully balances humor and emotion, eliciting laughter when it desires and tugging at heartstrings during poignant moments. I was genuinely moved by certain scenes. From uproarious slapstick to deeply touching love stories, the author excels in conveying the characters' feelings through their words, drawing you right into the narrative. A solid 10/10.
The narrative held some intrigue, although it wasn't my favorite type. The concept of a doctor and medical setting was indeed captivating, but the main character (MC) felt robotic and overly idealized, lacking depth. It's amusing how the book attempts to address sexism by featuring a female protagonist in medicine, yet struggles to present other women authentically, aside from the MC's mother.
The portrayal of female characters as villains solely because they're opposing the MC seems forced and misguided. Focusing on gender over character development isn't effective. While gender may influence behavior, it doesn't define a person. Characters should be shaped by their environment, experiences, and personalities, not just their gender.
The author's understanding of women and empowerment seems lacking. Although it's commendable to have strong female figures, the MC's mother garners more respect due to her genuine strength, compassion, and resilience. She supports her daughter, perseveres through adversity, and stands up for what she believes in. Her character is multi-dimensional and powerful, not just because of her gender.
In conclusion, while the medical and romantic aspects of the story could have been more engaging, the constant emphasis on women's empowerment detracts from the overall narrative. A more balanced approach, focusing on character growth and relationships without the frequent reminders of gender issues, would have made for a more compelling read.
