This might seem biased since I'm the one submitting the review, but I must say, this novel is an exceptional gem. It ranks among the finest reads I've come across lately. The story chronicles the protagonist's growth journey, beautifully complemented by the supportive main love interest.
The emotional depth is incredible; whether it's joy or sorrow, it evokes strong feelings. I hope others can resonate with the same experience as I did, finding solace and warmth in its pages. Unlike other novels that focus on toxic rivalries, this one offers a pure, uplifting, and light-hearted read, perfect for cleansing the palate after a heavy, dramatic tale.
While some readers might be curious about certain side characters' fates, which is perfectly valid, I admit I found myself wondering too upon completion. But rest assured, despite that, this is an outstanding novel, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Hehe.

So far, nothing is sweet: the main character (MC) goes through extensive and extreme abuse in very few chapters.
He lives in an extremely tyrannical universe where females (omegas) are used solely as tools for reproduction, with no social rights. It's somewhat akin to the very sad way women are still treated in many parts of the world and have been treated throughout history (worthless if they can’t bear a male child).
But it’s worse because of the rarity of omegas; they are shared and expected to breed for several people without being the companion of any of them!
It could have been a reverse harem with lots of care and love, but the author chose to make it ugly, evil forced surrogacy without an ounce of respect, love, or morality.
Back to our main character, unlike his very interesting but now broken sister, he has been beaten into submission for so long that he has less personality than a ghost. You might think he’s lucky to be an aristocrat, but his rare gender is hidden because his family seeks to sell his body for favors, profits, and power. They made sure he would never stray or struggle by humiliating and hurting him constantly!
It’s plain disgusting. I don’t really understand these choices, except perhaps to reflect the treatment of women in many parts of the world. But even then, it’s worse! Breeding doesn’t mean systematic humiliation for women, but it seems it does for omegas. They are treated like meat, inferior to animals. The dominants can’t do without them, but they seem to hate them with a passion as much as they use them in very obsessive and wicked ways.
Story-wise, there should be a plot. The prince apparently has many rivals hungry for his throne, and the sister’s “accident” is definitely not coincidental. Hopefully, this will give some room for the MC to grow a bit (badly needed).
We should guess the prince is the most probable male lead (ML). In that ambiguous universe, he’s not as bad as many—he seemed less prejudiced against castes and gender. But the sweet sister hushed the MC never to trust him—seeing the title, let’s hope she’s wrong and he’s the sweet part of this very bad universe.
So, what is left?
- The miserable sister is probably on her dying breath. What a pain; she was obviously a very interesting character, but she became fodder before chapter one. It’s so pitiful. Does it call for justice/revenge?
- Then you wonder: do we even want to expect a romance in that awful universe? Because seriously, the whole omega thing is way too bad. Saving one of them won’t pull the dirt off the curtains—and worse to come: do you want to add a baby to be born into that hellish setting? A cute little thing born to watch his back for assassins and plots, and be plotted by his nearest family members—add: a upbringing with high risk to become a half-rapist like most alphas around?
It’s good if you have a short memory (and forget what babies grow up to be), but it strangely doesn’t make me happy.
Lastly, plot-wise, there’s ample room for a game of chess, which would actually be interesting to read.
So let’s admit I’m a bit curious about how it will end: maybe reading two or three chapters from the end will satisfy my curiosity (where’s my sweet, can we save the sister, make a peaceful yet profound revolution?).
Or maybe because of the plot potential, I’ll give it a chance for a few more chapters as the MC is finally out of both his torturous shackles (family and heat)—at least for a little while.
But I can’t say I enjoyed it, nor can I recommend this title.
I seriously hope the writers put their minds to serious reasons and strong devices to actually express something when they use these extreme paradigms. I hope it’s not just gratuitous violence again—abuse, neglect, bullying, child abuse, sexual abuse, murders, and such. These should not be used too easily to tell a story. Nothing could be worse than these becoming so mundane that they no longer make us revolted.
Note: If you’re seeking warm or hot stuff, this is not the best. After three chapters, you also can’t escape a couple of strange smutty scenes. The first being a quasi-rape, is plain disgusting. The second is a very clinical “heat episode”—yes, duh, clinical, it’s an awkward mix of medical and rude terms patched together in an emotionless description, totally deprived of any kind of warmth—or heat!
Fine by me; I most often skip those—but boy, can people get turned on by reading about tripe (sorry, intestines)?
Lastly, the translation can be less than optimal, making some parts or dialogues hard to understand.
Hm. I understand that but why does it have 51st rank? Like this is a basic story why so up in rank?

I stumbled upon this a few days ago and now I can't seem to put it down. This novel is perfect for readers who easily lose interest in repetitive plots. The author constantly introduces fresh elements that captivate your attention and leave you eager for more. Each arc offers a unique theme that, although familiar in other works, is executed with creative twists that make it stand out. I appreciate how the author avoids cliches like the male and female主角 dynamic that can become overdone and unrealistic in many novels.
Despite initial negative feedback on the first arc, I feel compelled to defend this book and its main character, Ning Shu. Many readers abandoned it due to the perceived weakness of the protagonist, but I believe they didn't give it a fair chance. Ning Shu, who spent most of her life in a hospital battling cancer, enters a new life as a task taker with limited knowledge and skills. In the first arc, she finds herself in a challenging situation where she must compete against an experienced character, akin to a新手挑战老手.
The criticism stems from the expectation of an Overpowered (OP) protagonist依赖运气和剧情保护。However, Ning Shu's character development throughout the arc showcases resilience and determination despite her lack of experience. It's important to remember that her survival tactics might not align with the typical "harem" approach, but that's what makes her relatable and human. So, don't let the first arc discourage you; give the story a chance, and you might find yourself loving it.
