Sarah shuddered at the answer of Pierre but she then understood why her brother wanted to come in this town, if war truly happen, and not the one with gun and explosive, it will be the better place to prepare a good foothold cause everything will shatter like in movies or maybe even worse, and the only safe place will be somewhere like here.
After walking more than two hours and three fights the town came into view.
'Hmm do they really have a crush on Will, eeww they are such a flirt, I had a crush on him and we are much closer.'
"Seven years ago" Aiko responded looking down at the table. I put the dog tag back on the table and stood up. "Do you think there might be more inside, or was that all you found?" I asked Mei. "We went back here as soon as we found this". I stuck my hand into the middle and poked around. These things really are spacious, but for some reason, this one was smaller, as if its intention was to hold that dog tag and only that dog tag.
"iih gak yaa"
My hand slowly made its way up to my chests as I could feel a searing pain which began to run through my body. The shock was wearing off, I was feeling cold. I fell back on the inner step after my front door and I stumbled back before falling and hitting my head on the ground. The first thing I see, is darkness, complete darkness. It was like those times when you'd fall asleep and there was just nothing there. It was odd, no dreams, just pitch darkness. I couldn't move, I couldn't talk. The coldness and warmth, dampness and pain, it all faded as if it never happened. Was this the mind protecting itself? Or am I dead?
After a week we found Ken floating in the air as he got used to it, he had discovered that he could fly and an incredible super strength

"She isn't the mistress of this house." That's it. That's the line that destroyed me. Three simple sentences and suddenly Xiao Mingyue's entire world collapses. Let me just sit with that for a moment. The dialogue in these chapters is doing something really sophisticated. On the surface, it's very direct — people say exactly what they mean, which is almost more horrifying than subtext because there's no protection. But beneath that directness, there's this incredible layer of what's NOT said. The silences are where the real pain lives. Xiao Mingyue's dialogue is striking because of how little she says. "You're back." That's her first line to Feng Buji after three years. Three years of letters, of dreams, of embroidery, and she manages four words. Flat. Empty. The narrative tells us her tone was "far less excited than she had envisioned" and that she admitted "a trace of jealousy lingered in her heart." But she doesn't say any of that out loud. She just stands there and takes it. Hua Heng, on the other hand, is a verbal weapon. Watch how she shifts her tone throughout Chapter 2. She starts with fake sweetness — "Don't leave, Little Sister. It is all Big Sister's fault." Then she slips into genuine malice when she reveals the pregnancy. Then she goes back to performative innocence when Feng Buji enters. "Your Highness... it's alright. Please don't blame Miss Xiao, I believe she didn't mean to do it." The switch is instantaneous and terrifying. She's not just lying — she's acting, and she's good. Feng Buji's dialogue is the most revealing of all, mostly because of what he chooses to emphasize. He tells Xiao Mingyue "I won't make you wait anymore" — as if the wedding is the only thing that matters, as if he hasn't just destroyed every promise he ever made. He calls Hua Heng a "foolish girl" in that doting tone. He tells Xiao Mingyue she "doesn't deserve to hold this dress." Each line is a small execution. And Baoyu! The maid's dialogue is pure performance art. "Miss Mingyue, how could you be so heartless!" The theatricality of it, the way she "vented her rage through shrieks" — she's not just accusing, she's putting on a show. And the text says her performance was "so convincing that even Xiao Mingyue began to feel as though she had indeed done it." That's the power of bad dialogue done well — it can make the victim doubt herself. The author's narrative voice is also worth noting. It's close third person, almost always anchored to Xiao Mingyue's perspective. We get her thoughts, her physical sensations, her interpretations. But there are moments where the narrator seems to know more than she does — like when we're told about Hua Heng's "sinister twist" of a smile, or when we learn that Hua Heng has read all their letters. These glimpses of omniscience create this dreadful dramatic irony where we know things Xiao Mingyue is only beginning to understand.
