Okay so let me just say—this chapter introduced me to THREE women who each represent a completely different kind of relationship for Yang Zhiyan, and the contrast is absolutely devastating in the best way. First, there's Grandma Qin. I need to talk about this woman because WOW. She drops her fruit, a stranger helps her, and instead of just saying thanks and moving on, she immediately offers her an apartment. Not in a creepy way—she reads Yang Zhiyan in two seconds flat. The text says: "People who had lived long enough could always recognize how difficult life could be." That line hit me like a truck. Grandma Qin sees through the polite smile and the umbrella-sharing and knows this young woman is struggling. And she doesn't pity her—she offers an actual solution. A real one. The way she carries herself, that straight back walking into Binjiang Garden while the guards call her "Madam Qin"—she's not just rich, she's dignified. She's everything Yang Zhiyan might become if she stops bending herself into service for everyone else. Then there's Jiang Siya. Oh my god, Jiang Siya is my new favorite character and I only just met her. The contrast between her face and her mouth is chef's kiss. Round, dimpled, New Year's doll energy, but she speaks like she's running a combat unit. "If you keep living in that house, sooner or later they'll suck you dry. Your brother, your sister-in-law, your mom, your dad—it's like they've all got straws stuck into you." She doesn't sugarcoat anything. But here's what got me—the moment Yang Zhiyan texts her saying she wants to be kinder to herself, Jiang Siya doesn't mock her for it. She doesn't say "finally" in a mean way. She shows up in forty minutes with a BMW and says "put on one of your qipaos, we'll go eat beautiful food and take beautiful pictures." That's love. That's the kind of friend who actually sees you. And then... the family. The ones she's been serving for three years. The ones who never once asked if she'd eaten. The ones who wouldn't even save her leftovers if she worked late. Jiang Siya calls them "weirdos" and honestly? I can't disagree. But what breaks my heart is that Yang Zhiyan used to think this was normal. "We're family. Someone has to do the work." She was seven when she started. SEVEN. And now at twenty-five she's just beginning to rebel. I keep thinking about that image of her standing at the studio window, sunlight on half her face, finally understanding what Jiang Siya told her back in college: "If you don't even love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to love you?" She didn't get it then. She's getting it now. And it's both beautiful and heartbreaking that it took this long.
I think this is my favorite read so far!

I love this story just hope it will few to an end soon . I hope Elijah doesn’t get hurt as it looks like madam Jewel has cronies everywhere I just hope Elijah and Peach can have their happy ever after and soon .
I was going to wait to read this book but, once I got started, I couldn't stop. And, I don't know why but I was kind of hoping for Ace.
