Typical "my party treats me like garbage" first scene. Couldn't even get past the first chapter.

It’s a decent novel but it uses overly complicated terminology that turns a good novel into one that’s about as interesting as casually reading a dictionary.
instant 5-star bc of the same author who wrote warlock of the magus worldi never read it but i will post a new review when it comes out. i hope this one is as good as WOTM
Coming from author's other book I would like to say The story is going good but it lacks the number of chapters.
I'm a simple guy. I see "Harem
I think it will be very interesting story, because it's about cats and some super power. What can be more amusing than that? Heh. I hope it won't be disappointing. Good luck!
The author does a good job of giving the story depth. There is both humor and dark elements and the world is well fleshed out.
Here is my version of a teaser/summary of this novel.Lin Fan is a struggling graduate in Shanghai til the day he got his hands on huge book filled with blank pages. Now he has got an almight encyclopedia in his head that allows him to make the most addictive heavenly scallion pancakes and the ultimate fortune telling skills but this is just a tip of the iceberg. Read on and accompany him as he struggles to get enough points to unveil chapters, meet new friends, smack some bragging belittling people's faces and raise to the top.
The first chapter was all I could read. It seems a machine translation. A bad quality one with minimal editing. I gave average rating to all other than writing quality as without reading the story can't judge.
As others have stated, this novel is very much a slow burn with rather slow progression and more detail on the finer details such as worldbuilding. Conceptually, I find this aspect of the story most interesting which is very high praise considering I'm more into fantasy over sci-fi/mechs. The level of detail is just right, in my opinion. Though it does tend to stress certain concepts several times, it doesn't feel repetitive unlike in a certain sword god novel. I noted that certain arcs felt 'slow' at the time, but looking back, they're very much necessary in how they contribute to worldbuilding and the overall plot.Character development is rather good for this reason as well as being a non-plot-driven slow-burn. Other characters are distinct in their characteristics and dialogue and it's not just a slew of side characters.I'd definitely recommend giving this novel a shot.
