Story is hard to read. Kind of choppy and sentences aren't proper English.
"He wanted to completely dig out Shen Hui's eyes, preserve them in formaldehyde, and have those eyes gaze at him ceaselessly." I keep coming back to this passage. The symbolism of eyes in this novel is so heavy it's almost suffocating. Gu Xun doesn't love the female lead—he loves her EYES because they remind him of someone dead. He wants to preserve them, literally make them eternal objects of affection. That's not love. That's necrophilia dressed up as devotion. And now Shang Wan, with her "very beautiful" eyes, is standing in the same position. The parallel is terrifying and deliberate. But there's another layer I can't stop thinking about: the surveillance. Fu Chen has installed cameras in the maid's room. He's watching Shang Wan through a screen. She's trapped in a story she's already read, and now she's being watched by characters who may or may not be aware they're fictional. The novel itself becomes a cage. Shang Wan's awareness of the plot is both her weapon and her prison. She knows what's coming, but knowing doesn't mean she can change it. Every Bond Point she collects, every interaction she engineers—she's performing within a script that was written before she existed. That's the real horror here. Not the eye-gouging (though that's definitely up there). It's the existential dread of being a character who knows she's being read. And yet she keeps playing the game anyway. That's not just survival—that's defiance.
This is a great read ! I loved it ! Phobos is the most sweetest caring beast. Theia was immature at times but eventually got it together. A must read

Ethan is no better than Stephanie! He’s a loser and makes me wonder if he didn’t have nothing to do with Davis mother death! I’m still trying to figure out how they know Davis rape Stella! Who would had known unless the person behind the dirty evil deed! It’s been three years and why now!
