I don't think this is a slice of life, nor do I think it's any kind of power fantasy story. It just feels good to read; it's amusing at times, cats are present, it's very tranquil, and it feels nice to just read about a normal, average existence, especially considering what's going on around the world right now. It feels less like a story and more like a detached view on a completely normal and average world. I love Nocturne already, though what seems to be the FL seems kind of tropish to me. The story is slow, calm and completely normal; there is no conflict, little drive and ambition and makes me feel like I'm just popping into a world to admire the scenery. It's a great story, and I sincerely hope it gets picked up because I think I could use some normalcy in my life right now.

It's not just the men oppressing them — it's the system, yes, but it's also the way women are pitted against each other for scraps. The half-sister dynamic is so specific and so cruel. It's not even about survival — it's about status, about being the favorite, about having more. And the cost? A young woman's life. Shen Xinyan's mood turns somber at this news, and I could feel it. She forces herself to sound cheerful, compliments A-Man on gathering information quickly, but you can tell she's shaken. This isn't just plot background — it's the world this story lives in, and it's brutal. The emotional weight of knowing that women are both victims and perpetrators in this system... it's heavy. And A-Man just states it with this flat, indifferent tone like 'what a pity' — which somehow makes it even more painful.
