This is one of the best series I have ever read on this app. The first book you travel around Europe and witness a budding new romance. The second book you witness each character mature and grow individually which in turn causes their love to deepen. Outstanding work author. Bravo. And encore!

It's not terrible, but it's only enjoyable if you're a fan of endearing yet practically useless main characters. The beginning starts promisingly with the MC recalling past memories and asserting himself, but once he realizes his love for the ML, his character becomes one-dimensional.
The issue lies in his constant vulnerability – he can't defend himself anymore and relies solely on the ML or friends for rescue. As a lighthearted, cute escape from stress, it works, as you know nothing too dramatic will occur. The interactions are cute, and seeing others fall for the MC's charm can be amusing. However, there's缺乏 substance beyond that.
If you're after a story-driven plot, this isn't your cup of tea. While there's some semblance of a plot, it gets lost amidst the overwhelming sweetness. I can barely recall any significant events after all the fluffy content.
If you're into this genre, you might enjoy it. I might continue reading for updates, but I'm already invested, so it's hard to stop now. The translation is commendable; the translators deserve credit.
However, upon finishing the book, I must say it's not worth the read. The storytelling is convoluted and filled with bewildering plot twists, especially towards the end. I found myself repeatedly asking, "What? Why?"
There are a few humorous moments, like when Fania complains about his mother's lack of redeeming qualities beyond cuteness, which turned into a unintentional comedy goldmine. And there's an unexpected side pairing introduced around Chapter 59, which doesn't make sense within the context but has potential if given proper development. It involves Fania's father and the king, Alfred's father, but it feels out of the blue and poorly integrated.
In conclusion, my brainpower suffered, and I wouldn't recommend this book. It's a regrettable choice.

Reasons for Consideration to Stop Reading:
- Initially, I planned to write a review based on my impressions up to Chapter 37, but I continued beyond that point to Chapter 168. However, I'm considering stopping due to the slow pace.
- The main character's love interest (ML) was a sticking point for me. While some readers enjoy his character, I found him childlike. Although Hua Yang isn't mature in her interactions with him, he generally respects her boundaries. However, his jealousy and constant bickering, particularly over his eunuch's appearance, made him difficult to take seriously.
- As I progressed, I softened towards the ML. Their developing bond and mutual care were heartwarming. Despite his immaturity and impulsiveness, his protectiveness and willingness to adapt were endearing.
- The family dynamics were a sore point initially, with the entire family mistreating and belittling the ML. However, later, I discovered a softer side to their relationships, especially with his eldest brother and mother.
- The Chief Minister, ML's father, was portrayed as an impressive figure, but his flaws, including favoritism and unfair treatment of the ML, caused friction. The novel does address these issues, making for some compelling moments.
- Hua Yang's character could be frustrating, with her initial judgments of her husband and her tendency to compare him unfavorably. But her growth in understanding and acceptance was crucial to their compatibility journey.
- The arranged marriage seemed implausible given the circumstances, but the novel explores themes of power dynamics and the reversal of typical roles, adding depth.
- Although I initially intended to drop the book, I eventually grew attached to the lead couple's relationship. However, the story became拖沓 after the emperor's death, focusing heavily on Hua Yang's mission to clear her in-laws' names.
In conclusion, while there were aspects of the story that didn't resonate with me initially, the characters' growth and the evolving relationship kept me engaged. However, the slow pacing and repetitive nature of certain plotlines ultimately led me to consider discontinuing the read.

Different eyes, different sights. RI is not for the weak stomach plus Ri is from a villain's POV so it is like that. Plotting for something is ingrained in Gu world. Not only against MC, everybody plots against everybodu. There are no reasonable persons in Gu world because in that world, to reach true heights, you have to have "undesirable" traits. I put on quotes because we should not judge a fantasy world with vastly different values. Maybe Grimdark is not for you, how about you try a western novel called Broken empire trilogy, a real fantasy hard copy novel to see if you like Grimdark. If you still don't like the one I am recommending, Grimdark is not for you. Though I would say Ri is not without flaws. It's good but not without flaws.
